Louisiana doesn't have a revenue generation problem, it has a spending problem. If you give state government more money they will waste more money. It won't help here.

Louisiana will be the last state to get on board with legalization. It’s ironic because it’s something that can help our broken, stagnant economy so much but we’ll never do it.

Not if the politicians figure out how to line their own pockets with legalization.

But with all the taxes, is it still cheaper on the street?

Won’t help the state one bit.

Weath wise Louisiana ranks around 25th in the country but remains 48-50 in being poor. It is a wealth fare state with free handouts to the people working the system.

Marijuana money will mean just more wealth fare money to pass around.

Maybe. But legal weed is so cheap (at least in the NW) that it's not really worth fricking with the black market because legal weed offers benefits that BM weed typically doesn't (lab analysis, regulated fertilizer and pesticide policies, CONVENIENCE). It's similar to alcohol. Sure, you might be able to find some cheap moonshine, but it's easier and safer to just go to the liquor store.

In some states but not all states are equal in the growing marijuana dept.

Making it legal will get a lot of people who will not buy it illegally off the street to come in.

Most dealers don't have the choices the store fronts do so that will bring in the illegal buying folks too. Having 40 strains on hand will be too interesting.

Hard to tell, but legal MJ states I don't see any dealers remaining.

Usually distributing in bulk, with no risk of prison, results in a lower price even with taxes added in.

Plus the MJ stores that I've seen are top notch in terms of quality and service. Almost like a jewelry store.

Our economy lacks diversity, which is a big indicator or strength of economy. Coal to West Virginia is basically what oil and petro is to Louisiana. We have 1 product, and when that product goes down (as it tends to do on occasion) the state struggles to generate as much revenue.
