I've become very open about my marijuana use recently.
I feel as though I'm in a position to reduce the taboo at least with the people in my life. My way of doing my part to bring on legalization in the South
My parents, in-laws, certain co-workers, etc. I just tell them about it like it's no big deal. Weave it into conversations. It is the way I unwind my anxiety and stress before bed instead of drinking alcohol.
Obviously I limit the amount I talk about it at work though
ETA:
The trick is to be nonchalant about, welcome any conversation about it, and never be combative when we discuss it. I'm a relatively successful 31 year old with a good job in corporate America, so it allows people (older people) to realize not just pot heads and junkies partake.

Hard to tell, but legal MJ states I don't see any dealers remaining.
Hard to tell, as in you don't know, right?

There are absolutely still dealers in legal states, but I'd contend fewer "just weed" dealers that target teens. This is anecdotal, but I have a bunch of family in the Pacific NW and some teenagers among them and I've talked to them about it.
The stigma being washed away makes it less enticing for teenagers as well, which is massive.
Funny thing I've found is I never have to buy it in Portland when I visit. My sister and all her friends grow it in their yard next to their vegetables. Its like any other garden plant. And FWIW, she's a successful architect and her husband is a middle school biology teacher. They aren't some pot head bums.

Living in Oregon, and the back and forth..
I hardly see a lot of the shite I used to see in Louisiana. Or the shite I used to do as a teen.
Kids here all like teas and coffee. Japanese bubble tea, which I enjoy as well.
ETA
There is a large meth problem in rural parts of the state and certain parts of portland.
That's the legit drug that is ruining lives. Fentanyl just ends lives. Meth ruins over long periods of time. I see a lot of that with the homeless population..probably how they ended up where they are.

I remember you have family there. I keep waiting for you to remember that you've told me and I'm the everyday smoker here.
My people grow it in their basements year round.
The little street dealers selling pot have gone away but there are plenty of people growing and selling for sure.
Most of them deal in bulk now because of low profit margins.

You’re right although it would be interesting to see what the state makes from pot arrests and imprisonment vs tax on legal pot sales.

Right.
I know a couple guys that sell in bulk via USPS to non-legal states.

Prohibition never works. We are stupid thinking it ever will.

Yes, hard to tell because I don't know what street dealers are selling for now.
You don't have to be an asswipe about it

This was the point of my whole first post, but I guess people can’t read sarcasm. It’s probably all the weed they smoked killing their brain cells.

Louisiana doesn't have a revenue generation problem, it has a spending problem. If you give state government more money they will waste more money. It won't help here.
You don’t think New Orleans real estate would benefit from adding some stores around canal?

Absolutely not, NOLA has the worst spending habits in the state by an order of magnitude. The freaking World's Fair in 1984 went bankrupt, and it's only gotten worse since then.

My buddy and his brother have worked for Stryker for a real long time. I can verify this is true. They repeatedly emphasize this almost every time I see them. They talk a lot about how much the doctors and anesthesiologists they work with like to party, if you know what I mean.
