My dad was in the diplomatic service for a while as a military attaché when I was a kid and we moved every 6 to 12 months on average it seemed. One school year it was so bad I went to 4 different schools.
When my mother finally put her foot down he got himself a job for a large multinational company with the express role of establishing new offices, making acquisitions and negotiating with governments in any new countries they wanted to expand to. Nothing much improved. On the plus side, I’ve been to a bunch of places, learned a lot of languages, and am by habit now never someone to have much clutter.

Just 2 cities. 7 places, including dorm in college. Home I grew up in, East Stadium dorm (Tiger Stadium), Pentagon dorm, 2 apartments and 2 homes in Orlando in 55 years. Yeah I don’t like to move.
