It's way worse here though.
It’s really not. I work with teams from Pennsylvania and Boston that are significantly worse.
This board has bad habit of doom posting about things in LA, but I can assure you the bad of LA is not limited to here. It’s not surprising a bunch of people posting on TD at 1am are complaining and miserable.

It’s holding the state back

I used to think it was more of a Louisiana exclusive thing but nope. Nepotism runs deep across the country. See it first hand in my industry.
It’s worse in some industries than others but generally speaking it’s everywhere.
I will admit that in Louisiana if you’re not well connected you might as well get out. It’s much easier to carve your own path elsewhere such as Texas if you don’t have connections. Super big good ole baw network in the boot. If you’re not one of them you’re screwed

Unsure if genuine.
And if so, huh?

If it’s a private company then that’s absolutely their prerogative. The business will ultimately fail.

You are correct. Especially the business world. Careers are made based off of “who you know” instead of “who is the most qualified candidate for the position”.

Avoyelles is very nepotistic / clicks! Especially the politicians can’t believe these kind of people run shite. I wish I could pick up my piece of land and the home that I have created and moved somewhere else.

Which state agency or municipality government are you speaking of?
Perfect example of people bitching and no real context. Louisiana has nepotism laws for state agencies. This is a much bigger issue in private industry in Louisiana.

Bureaucracies are the most pervasive form of welfare in the state. Coupled with unabashed graft and corruption, that's why everything those agencies are responsible for is complete shite. Unqualified fraudsters don't often make the best administrators of government resources.
Don't even get me started on the private sector, where often those lines intersect on public works contracts.

I love Louisiana, I have lived here my whole life, outside of 2 years, when I lived in fricking Mississippi. That being said I realize how much of an absolute dump this state is, I love it, but I know it sucks. Proud to be from here though, lol

used to work at LED where I would talk to companies that were looking to relocate. A lot of execs don't locate stuff here because of that and the govt corruption (mostly cops that stop big rigs). That's why you see a lot of the bigger corporations that come here will relocate a company man to run things instead of a local because they know a local will hire his most incompetent friends and relatives to work there and run the place to the ground.
I hope your presentations and conversations were better worded and more eloquent than this post.
