This is literally the opposite of what happened. The homeowner, trinity, came out telling the COPS to get off her property.

You truly might be the dumbest person in this thread.

The yard isn't fricking base in a game of tag.

The "homeowner" (a renter piece of shite actually) should have been arrested for disturbing the peace for having a disruptive party on "her" property.

In short, please sit in your garage with the car running.

in that video the cops were telling the protesters to leave that woman's yard, and they didn't and it looks like thats why they rushed in and started arresting people.

and protesters completely blocking the sidewalk.

By personal experience, I know for a fact that simply standing (even partially) on a sidewalk or any public right-of-way, given the circumstances, can be grounds for arrest. If I recall correctly, it was deemed "obstructing public passage".

I was simply observing a fight between several people outside a bar. I heard the police demanding to "get out of the street" but I assumed they were directing that to the participants in the fight. Next thing I knew I felt a night stick crack across the side of my knee and I went down. Cuffs were applied. Written up but not taken downtown.

What are the ramifications of not having Ms. Batiste's approval? I guess she might file a complaint at the Police Dept.?

I know there is a public servitude and zoning says property owner can't build there but is the actual property line at the street or at the servitude?

I figure the street so they can tax you on the SF of land even though you can't build on it.

And sidewalk is the owner's land. Not the city's. The city may have installed a sidewalk there but it is the homeowner's property and responsibility. That's why sidewalks become terrible. Homeowners believe the city will come back one day and fix it. There are a few instances (Brightside Drive, for example) where the city maintains the sidewalk.

Oh so if I prefer grass I can just go ahead and tear out the sidewalk and the city will be just fine with it right?

It doesn't matter where the property line is. You cannot completely block the right of passage on the sidewalk. The sidewalk is public.

The lack of even basic legal knowledge by some in this thread is sad and astounding.

That is what I figured as well. Publicly going against the protesters as a civilian is a bold move

Correct. She didn't want her house destroyed or to be labeled.

would have been awesome if they ran to the private property and then the owner came out with a gun and the protesters were then trapped between the cops and the owner in this weird limbo with so many confused faces

If I owned that place it would be in the process right now. Then I'd lease it to BRPD to use the yard for snatch and grabs.
