Furthermore, how big is her yard? If I'm her neighbor I'm just waiting for one of these idiots to step foot on my lawn.

You can't break the law, then run on private property and not get arrested. Furthermore, the sidewalk to the road is public property and basically an extension of the road (hence illegal to block).
And sidewalk is the owner's land. Not the city's. The city may have installed a sidewalk there but it is the homeowner's property and responsibility. That's why sidewalks become terrible. Homeowners believe the city will come back one day and fix it. There are a few instances (Brightside Drive, for example) where the city maintains the sidewalk.

I think the big gap here is what happened before this video:
LINK
Half of this thread thinks people are arguing that you can't be arrested while on private property, they're not arguing that. The argument is that the rally was taking place on private property, it didn't flee onto this lady's lawn while running from cops.
The real question is, how long were they there, what were they doing before, and what led up to this. Ultimately, we don't have that information right now.

OMG the ignorant people in this thread is mind boggling!
They were not arrested for trespassing!
You committing a crime then running onto my property with permission does not absolve you of said crime. If anything it makes me more likely to also get arrested!
Jesus people

Homeowner was interviewed and she allowed it.
Home owner was interviewed after the fact. It is not like she was standing on her porch screaming for them to rush into her yard. Pretty easy after the fact so say it was okay they were there.

She gave them permission. Problem is they can't stand in the street and retreat to said private property and be protected.
The person you heard yelling you don't have my permission and to get off their property was directed at the police. Hope she doesn't need cops help in the future

Yes we do.

Yeah, you might want to go re-read servitude and zoning laws. Particularly in a light-commercial area such as Beauregard Town.

Actually she was.

They were throwing chunks of concrete at the police a few minutes before they retreated to that lady's yard. They were getting arrested regardless of where they were standing.

Wait now people in this thread believe they own the sidewalk too?
Shoot me now March for me tomorrow.

in nashville, metro is 100% responsible for the sidewalk... and they have to purchase your land if they want to build it
or you think people are supposed to re-pour the concrete once it gets busted up?

Yes, those tactics are legal.

No, we all watched them break the law and then flee. They were breaking the law. This isn't hard to understand. Also LEO is targeting the rabble rousers. They aren't just blindly snatching people. If they run in they have tagged them inciting others to disobey the law.
