I'm done with tipping.

The above image is barely an exaggeration at this point. It doesn't matter if it's online takeout from a chain like Chili's, a sandwich from Subway, or a drive-thru coffee from Starbucks. Everyone seems to expect a 25% or greater tip.
"Insert your card and there's going to be a question for you."
My answer to the question is: "frick you."
Unless you're waiting on me in a sit-down restaurant, refilling my drink and bringing me things like hot bread, you're not getting shite. I'm sick of this entitlement.
The same way your demands for a higher minimum wage have resulted in digital kiosks, your constant begging for higher tips for minimal service is going to backfire on you.

That's fine. Your latte is just going to now cost $16 instead of $12.
I think it sucks just as much as you do, but there isn't really a whole hell of a lot that's going to change it. We're going to pay for it one way or the other.

PLEASE.
This is literally the best outcome for everyone involved

I’d rather pay more upfront than have to do tipping. Since a large number of people don’t tip, the people that do tip will end up paying less since they aren’t covering for everyone else

Pay cash. Leave $1. They are happy and you save $.

It is beyond ridiculous with tipping now, if you're busting arse keeping my drinks filled and making sure everything is going fine while I am out to eat then yes you deserve a great tip. If you're just pulling the handle on a tap to give me a Nitro Cold Brew then not so much.

This new tipping is getting absolutely out of control. It doesn't matter where you go, now everyone expects a tip anywhere from 15-30% on top of highly inflated prices. Many at these restaurants are already making $16-20 per hour working the counter and tipping on top of that seems ridiculous

Walked into a restaurant at a designated to go desk to pick up a bag of food, they had a tip line. Put a line through it. Not getting a tip for handing me a bag of food

Free market is the best market. Bring this shite on, please!
How about you get rid of tips all together, pay your employees and they just give the best service they can so they keep their job….

imagine how much servers will complain when they're paid $12 an hour instead of tips. I made $20+ an hour in tips on average. It wasn't worth whining about the folks who don't tip because overall I was doing pretty well for a job that a monkey could do.
I'd be 100% fine with walking up to a window and getting my own food if it means I don't have to deal with a server or tipping.

How did the USA evolve into this system that is pretty hard to find elsewhere on the planet?
We were just at a hotel that only had valet parking. $20/day to park, and if you are like us, you might go on 1 or 2 excursions during the day, so you have to tip a gofer to fetch your vehicle that you could easily have gotten yourself. You might be out $30/day just to park your damn car. It makes it hard to tip a buck for a $12 Miller Lite at the hotel bar.

If waitresses were hot and wore skimpy clothes they’d get better tips
You don’t ever see hooters waitresses complaining

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, tipping should be done away with. In Europe what you see on the menu is what you pay, cost tax and tip included. You’re still paying the same price as you would with the tax and tip here, just makes things a hell of a lot easier.

I agree on tipping but it will raise the cost if the meal regardless of the service.
These places need to attract employees so they throw out hey you are really making $15 with tips. While also not having to take a huge price increase.
It’s a way to balance shite out. Think about going in and seeing a tip, you don’t have to tip. Now think about going in and it was $12 yesterday but $16 today, people would walk out.

I never buy coffee at Starbucks or Community Coffee House. It is a complete waste of money IMO. The wife and I have cut eating out by 90% and are healthier for it. She cooks fresh vegetables and we bought half a calf from a friend who raises cattle. Grass fed no antibiotics or hormones. I'm 6'2" and was weighing 230 lbs. I now weigh 213 lbs and feel much better eating healthier. I drink coffee at home or work. At home I can splurge on quality coffee and still much cheaper. Inflation has everything so expensive. Cutting Star Bucks and Community Coffee drive thru just makes sense to me.
