I’m convinced the spillway between LaPlace and Metairie is cursed.

Every morning there is either a wreck, breakdown, or some other BS that brings traffic to a halt. It’s always east bound, right after passing through LaPlace. Must be the souls of dead workers who built that bridge.

This is what I saw this morning as an example of what I’m talking about.

I am convinced that most people don't deserve a license, drive like a-clowns and don't pay attention.

That’s a strange way to park a car.

My step-sister died in a car fire in that exact area you're speaking of. Very dangerous stretch of road. Nothing to slow drivers down there, including the absence of police radars.

Call it what it is. If frickers would get off their phones, stay in the right lane except to pass and not drive 30 mph faster than the flow of traffic this shite wouldn’t happen. Mostly the phones though.

The police that sit on the shoulders on the Spillway make it more dangerous because cars hit their brakes and/or want to suddenly switch over to the left lane causing a chain reaction of other driver having to do the same.

It’s a fricking disaster waiting to happen

Most people are bad drivers. It’s the reason ~40k people are killed on the roads each year in the US.

I’ve definitely questioned my life choices after making this commute for nearly a year.

Drivers on the roads now are the worst I've seen in my life, and I think that trend is continuing so we'll all see a lot worse.

Younger drivers in particular tend to see other drivers as obstacles to be overcome, not human beings, so they drive in a way that puts everybody in danger. The attitude is "I'm pissed, so anything I do on this road right now is justified."

Also, you slowed everybody behind you down when you took a picture of that wreck.

Indeed. Once you accept the implications of the bell curve, you've got a lot of drivers with iq under 80.

And women. Current housemate has iq in the 130s. And yet, seems incapable of major functions drivers should be doing 100% of the time.

It def. seems to have happened a lot more in the last year or so for some reason.

I head east through there in the evenings quite a bit and it's amazing there aren't more serious wrecks at that time of the day. The baws getting off of work up river drive like fcking lunatics. They think of the 60 mph speed limit as just a suggestion and do 80 instead all while weaving in and out of traffic.

You can see the ghost on the bridge in the background.

I admit to looking for them further on, getting a ticket or in a wreck.

I was driving in a heavy rainstorm. I'm at the limit.
I'm passed by some xxx going 20 mph more.

5 minutes later, there she is, wrecked solo, run into a hillside. I didn't even slow down.
