re: I'm a gun owner - is it really that bad to make a gun registry and require mental screens?

No, you'll continue to want to ban a tool instead of addressing why this only happens today as opposed to the long history of having large amounts of firearms in this country, even after ever increasing gun control laws.

Why can an 18 yr old in Texas buy AR-15s, ammunition, and 30 round mags but can't buy booze?
In Louisiana that 18 yr old can buy the same guns and ammo and mags but can't even buy lottery tickets or cigarettes either. Why?

That's kinda weird. I'm no gun control advocate.

If you really believe in your religion, you have to control the cults

If you really believe in guns, you have to control the crazies

If you really believe in your politics, you have to control the false conspiracies

On and on and on...

Personally, I really believe in guns and we have to do a better job of reigning in the crazies.

You are a fricking mental midget!

What happened to the registry in Nazi Germany? What about Venezuela? Please tell us where “gun regulation” hasn’t been used against a population?

A well-regulated militia”

That’s funny how you throw this language out there like some of got ya.

I wonder what the government or law enforcement would do if a group of 18-50 year old males went into the woods on private property every weekend together in the morning while doing trail runs while wearing combat fatigues and combat boots, then spent every 10-2 target practicing at distance or door to door urban combat training, and then needed the day with tactics review or wilderness warfare games.

Would that group simply be called a well regulated militia and left alone and allowed to have any weapons they wanted? Or some other outcome?

Why not outlaw crazy people. As long as we’re going down the road of “f*ck your rights”.

You’re literally agreeing with him…

One person is saying that because the founding fathers said it…it should stay that way.

You’re saying the exact opposite…in other words, agreeing with the person you’re replying to.

I am not a criminal and do not wish to be treated like one when it comes to constitutional rights. We don’t need a “truth commission”, either.

Idgaf how many people are gunned down.

ANYONE should be able to own any type of arms that they can afford.

Yes that includes tanks, jets, nukes… etc.

We could save 30k lives a year by outlawing vehicles from exceeding 15 mph.

We could save 300k lives a year by tackling the obesity pandemic.

We could save countless lives by dealing with mental health issues in ways other than popping multiple pills every day.

So you morons are ok with requiring a license to drive but not own a deadly weapon.

Look in the mirror…..where in the Constitution does it hand down the right to drive? On the other hand it explicitly covers fire arms ownership……

Go write a poem about it.

Im pro gun and I think gun registry and mental screens are reasonable.

I know a lot of you are against it because you think it will become something else. The gun lobbyist wants you to think that so you will be against anything that might cut the number of sells of guns, but if someone is mental would you rather they not have a gun?
