This thread proves there’s no hope. Too many people in this country see every single thing through a politics lens and tribalistic warfare. It’s wild that so many of you hate the other political party so much that you’d rather see kids get gunned down than give the other side an inch. I can’t stand most of the progressive agenda. I also think the far right is a bunch of conspiracy theory loving morons. You extremist on both sides are ruining this country. Every time I mention gun control you throw out some shite about trannies and black kids blah blah. I hate all criminals. I could give two fricks when some low life thug gets killed for fighting the police. I think pronouns are absurd. But I can separate myself from politics ideologies enough to acknowledge there is a huge problem with gun violence and an open range free for all is not the answer. Would be amazing if some of you could not simply tow the party line for once.

It’s the height of narcissism to think that people want to listen about every single one of your political stances while you make a point about not being political about the current issue at hand. It’s also pretty narcissistic to think you’re somehow “above the fray” because you can have opinions on either side of the spectrum.

The real story here is that you heard about some dead kids on the news and got really sad about so you say “frick YOUR RIGHTS” to anyone who disagrees with you.

Franky you’re acting like a 16 year old girl whose high school sweetheart just broke up with her.

Your solution ignores the fact that criminals don't follow the laws. Your solution only burdens the law abiding citizens and does nothing to stop the criminal.

Can we at least require some kind of mental screening for owning a gun and make sure that each gun is registered?

Truth Ministry to decide?

The theory I run with is simply technology has changed the way we do everything, even for the murderers.

Ever wonder why we never hear about serial killers anymore? I often think about that, and it almost certainly has to do with the tracking devices in everyone's pockets and cameras on every corner. Serial killers are a dying breed...too easy to get caught now.

The deranged kids these days are different in that they were raised by social media and instant gratification. Instant fame, no matter the way you get it. The slow burn of a serial killer has morphed into the instant gratification of the mass shooter.

These mass shooters are this generation's serial killers. They've simply adapted to how they can get their release. In my opinion, anyways.

Not a bad assessment actually. I've never looked at it that way, but it makes sense.

We could clean the streets by locking up all these thugs with unregistered weapons. Make owning an unregistered gun a 30 year sentence and if the gun was used in a crim a life sentence.

I love how you progressives all of a sudden turn to life sentences for a first time offense. Damn that’s intense. I bet you are against stop and frisk too

You probably say routinely “the criminal justice system is broken” blah blah blah

You are a hypocrite

Well, if you think about how technology has changed basically how we think and how we do things now...I don't see why it wouldn't carry over to everything else, even shite as horrible as this

Of course not. They knew they weren't. Which is why they left this handy little way to update the Constitution. It's called an "Amendment". You should check it out!

But nah, you don't want to go the legal route. You'd rather just ignore the Constitution.

Yes and yes. The government has weapon used the IRS, EPA, FBI, Twitter, Facebook, and just about every other thing they can against their political enemies. The government WILL abuse the registry.

As far as mental screenings, what if your mental evaluator is an anti-gun activist that strongly believes no one should have guns. That evaluator WILL find something to prohibit you from buying a gun

First of all, is that a punishment?

Yes.

Congrats on being retarded. You now support:
quote:

pronouns, stupid arse criminals who can't follow police orders, abortion

And oppose
quote:

voter ID cards.

Also, a registry and a mental health screening are not going to prevent this kind of guy from getting a gun.

There are thugs in Chicago that are felons, that are strictly prohibited from owning guns in a state that requires registration (foid) and it’s a war zone. Stop being ridiculous.

Also, would you be in favor of a mental
Health or intelligence screening to exercise your right to vote?
