I’ve been wanting to go there for years, but I haven’t been able to make it. I think that’s where I’m going to go next I want to go in the spring. Any recommendations for a place to stay and get rentals would be welcomed.

Family of 5 for 5 day trip

But why park city? Were you dead set on going there? There's plenty of other mountains not part of the massive mega ski complexes (ikon or epic) that have plenty of terrain for all family members. Let alone much cheaper.

Because you make multiple long posts about it in every vacation related thread. You clearly have a chip on your shoulder.

i dont even post pictures and other things from a lot of things we do for this very reason, people get mad and take it as bragging.
exactly my point. I can’t imagine thinking my friends and family would take it as bragging if I posted a picture from Europe or Colorado.

It’s kinda out of control. We took a family trip to Europe last year for 10 days that will likely cost the same

This is always my point with the f-ed out skiing trips twice a year, 30A, Mexico, the Caribbean (over, and over, and over again.) Could go to Western Europe for a long week (we spent a little bit more for two weeks for 4), but many of the OT wealthy keep doing the same stuff. If it makes you happy, I guess, but damn the missed opportunities.

Lodging $3,900

A multi-room room with multiple closets at the Prince de Galles in Paris is within spitting distance of that. And yet, skiing.

We do a different big trip every year

Last have been

Disney-2022
France-2023
Park city-2025

Next year or late 2025 will likely be Ireland, then 2026 or 2027 Disney again

To each their own, but I would choose skiing in the mountains, North America or Europe, over Paris every time.

umm its not really my friends or immediate family

but we own a business and unfortunately have to think about things like that and have had people make comments multiple times.

and i hardly ever am the first to bring it up. there were a bunch of post in this thread alone talking about how they hate people posting bragging about their vacations.

its not a chip on my shoulder to point it out.

Sonny was probably lost in thought as to how his precious little girl Chastity ended up as such a mess.

I haven't been to park city since before the olympics. Was much cheaper back then.

Going now prob isn't worth it. Super expensive and super crowded.

It's only a bunny slope tactic. Anything beyond bunny slopes and you're right, it won't slow you down. Commit to leaning and biting into a hockey stop while flying down the mountain. It'll change your views.

I lived up in the mountains of Colorado for 3 years. Skiing was the only thing enjoyable about the winters. My kids love it.

Wanted to go skiing ever since I watched Wide World of Sports which showed skiing a lot back in the late 60's and early 70's, from jumping too downhill. My cousins used to go every year and said they had a blast. Had a couple of ski maps tacked on their wall. Joined the AF out of HS and told my career instructor I wanted to go anywhere there was skiing. He gave me a few choices and put them on my dream sheet. Ended up in northern Japan and there I experienced the mountains, the air, the feel of being almost free from everything. Guys I met while there where all from skiing areas growing up, so they put me under their wings and taught me the basics. Never heard of pizza, they called it snowplow. Went to this one mountain that wasn't very big, but at the top was borderline black. At the end of the day everyone said let's do the top. Another guy from Texas about as good as me had second thoughts as I did, but off we went. Got to the top and thought I was gonna die. My skiing buddies took off like no body's business. Me and Texas gingerly went down going right as far as we can, then falling backwards, shifting our skiis to go the other way, rinse, repeat. We got about 1/4 way down the hill, and Texas bites the dust and slides out of control a good two hundred yards, losing everything but his poles, gloves and glasses. I was in panic mode and ended in the same way and actually slid farther than him, out of control. Thought I was gonna end up snowballing like you see on cartoons. While trying to gather my shite up, here comes a school of Japanese kids probably around 7/8 years old just shushing down the hill like they were born to do it. Fun times and would do it again at my age if my knees were not so messed up. Just being in the mountains is worth it to me.,

Unless you have a season pass and live relatively local, skiing has gotten crazy expensive thanks to corporations buying up all the resorts.

I’ve skied hundreds of days, have only been once since moving down South. I love it, but it’s not worth $300-500/day.

Well, no shite, but I had to take my daughter at least once. We didn't spend long there before we headed South. The example was to encourage some of the OT to look up a fancy arse hotel in Europe. Nobody would give a shite if I mentioned a five star in a town they didn't recognize.

Got invited out to Taos years ago.

First time. Slopes closing and everybody calling it a day.

Our buddy came up and I said, hey, everybody talks about how much fun skiing is, how come they all look like somebody beat the crap out of them with bats.

Did get a kick watching them try to walk in the boots.

Least favorite place I have skied in this country. It was during covid, so that may have something to do with it.
