I had a house on Acadian and someone hit my tree and died. They put up a cross.
After a year I accidently hit it with the lawnmower. .
It was odd having a cross in my front yard.

That crap is so stupid. It’s just so bizarre that people actually take the time to go out to the exact spot where their some trucker smashed into a tree near mile marker 78. It must be some kind of white trash get together when they do it.

With all the things to worry about in life and you picked this to bitch about? Geez, some people complain just to complain.

Let people grieve how they want!

Let the DOT grass cutters complain about this…………oh, you cut grass on the side of the road huh?!?!

I personally enjoy knowing where dangerous spots in our roads are. Better than a yellow “Dangerous Curve” sign.

Putting crosses on the road is trashy. So is dying on the side of the road

I’ll bet they grieve there also.

I just don’t get the hate for this at all.

Understandably people mourn and want to understand what happened and they don’t know what else to do but mark the spot.

But it in no way should be permanent.

I’ve always said there should be an allowance for maybe 4 weeks (or however long). After that time, it’s considered litter.

It’s on the side of the road. How is it in your way. Keep it between the lines and you’ll be alright, dumbass.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to be reminded of the spot my loved one died every time I passed by. But that's me.

I mean it’s not like I’m going to forget where it happened every time I pass.

Your statement presumes that the living loved ones reside in the area though. They may not.

Sure and no billboards too. Nothing that distracts from driving

There is a memorial on 90 between Beaumont and Humble that has been there for nearly 20 years, and no one has removed it, and surely someone has maintained it.
is the billboard about the girl getting murdered still on the interstate, just inside the TX border?

I disagree. It provides comfort to the family, and I enjoy praying for people.

I would let the family put one on my property, but only for a year and let them know that so they can get whatever they place if they want.

Technically you’re not supposed to and if it’s in the states right of way, they can legally remove it.

OP: Cure cancer or eradicate children’s hunger first and then we’ll get onto the issue of banning roadside memorials.

Thanks,
