I'm not calling bullshite, but people told me this in the spring of '21 when I bought a new vehicle. Even the dealership told me things would return to normal by that fall...and here we are.

i got a new 21 escape in July 21 from a pretty empty lot and he told me they'd be full by next spring and that was not accurate.

i've seen different lots that are pretty full, but most look to be mixed of new and used as well as some careful placement.

Not really. I just bought a Toyota, this weekend, and received only 1 key, and part of the other, due to chip shortages. They will mail me the key fob, when it is ready.

This is true in any industry. Prices are always fast to rise and slow to drop.

What’d you get? Off the lot or was it ‘ordered’ for you?

Used boat prices are dropping but still crazy high.

I keep getting emails from my dealer (Texas MasterCraft but they were bought out by MarineMax last year) with all kinds of incentives. Not sure if this is because of wake boats sitting for long stretches of time or something that MM corporate is doing across all of their dealerships.

This is kind of one of those “live responsibly, work hard, don’t be poor” kind of threads

I can’t imagine needing a car and waiting a few months to save a few bucks

I see y’all bragging about taking days off and working from home on here. If y’all stacked OT and dimes on the pipeline like a real man y’all wouldn’t have to hope that beater survives a few more months until prices go down

The reality is you either need a vehicle now or you will need one in the future.

You have to deal with the current market if you do not have any other options

Everyone in the industry knows this is coming. Hell, brand new cars are starting to show up at auctions. The OP is correct. Sit tight if you are in the market for a vehicle.

I need this car in 3 months and it’s not available anywhere. As is I’ll have to fly and get it…drive it back 700 miles. The only reason I’m getting it is because someone backed out on it. Zero available in the whole country.

There is about to be pain with the dealerships and they did it to themselves. I am glad to see it.

Inventory may increase, but that is more due to interest rates, like housing.

Definition of an uneducated consumer here. Keep writing checks, and driving to the bank to check your balance old man. Don't worry the people selling you stuff will always give you the best deal available.

What did you get? I spent $4k and got a Ford Escape with 115,000 miles. But I overhauled the brakes and electrical and made upgrades. 2011. First car I want something that can almost be thrown away.

Car salesman raping customers blind on vehicle prices.

The price of everything went up, its just more noticeable on a car than it is a gallon of milk. Plus dealerships dont make the MSRP, the manufacturer does.

No shortage of Wakeboats at SMG or Texas Marine from any of my searches and by looking at their lot.
