Oldmanbeasley would survive by any means necessary.

I’d fight until my ammo or Coumadin ran out. At that point I’m dead either way.

If shite really hits the fan 80 to 90% of us will be dead in the first year. If you're in a metro area you aren't going to last long. If you're in the country and don't have any plans other than the redneck "i know how to deer hunt" type stuff you're going to be gone pretty quick as well.
Without power/transportation the US population is wayyyy over carrying capacity.
If you try to isolate in the country it won't be long until folks start dispersing because everybody always thinks that all the food is in the country. There's around 100 people per square mile of land in the US. Afer 50% are dead in the first month or two of the grid going down you're still left with a lot of people dispersing and competing for resources. Game is going to run out really fast. Folks are going to learn how to hunt quick and they won't be following seasons or bag limits. You're going to have to form a pretty strong group with leadership and a command structure to have any chance at survival.

We're already being invaded. It's just another day at the office.
If you mean a declared occupying enemy... Can't get much worse than it already is.

It's a shame that these young people only know the shitty remake of that classic piece of cinematic history. Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Gray, Leah Thompson, and Powers Booth. Pretty star-studded cast for the time.

I would be a roach and feast on the carcasses of the lions and sheep.

As a child of the 80’s myself and many have probably fantasized about a red dawn situation most of our lives. The world may just be shocked by the pent up rage held within the average middle aged married male in this country

That would be under the assumption that the invasion force destroyed the infrastructure, right? Would they not want the infrastructure to remain intact with all the resources it provides? I mean, why else commit to an invasion? Or would the invasion force just hold out for a year, wait for people to die and rebuild? I’ve always had the thought that if a force ever made it to mainland US, then we’ve already lost massive amounts of fighting aged men/women, resources and support from anyone else.

I don't think there's anybody out there that would have a chance at launching a successful invasion if the infrastructure/supply lines are intact.

That's what I'm thinking as well. It's been a while since I've watched Red Dawn but didn't they strategically nuke a lot of the US and shut down communications before invading? By the time a lot of the country figured out what was going on they already had a foothold.

First thing I would do is get Chicken to change my username to GrayMan101.

I think that’s how the movie played out, but I don’t remember. I think if we are ever in a position that the US is looking at defending an invasion, that can’t bring an optimistic outlook. That would essentially mean our military with all its resources and capabilities have been destroyed. We fight wars over there, not over here.

I would go to Lutcher and offer up my nuclear weenie for sex and pageantry to all of your women and then build a bunch of levee bonfires to lead the ruskies to new orleans thus saving your candy arse from communism.

I’m not sure what happened to the US military in the movie.
IIRC, Powers Booth said that they (Russia) nuked major military hubs like Omaha, D.C., etc. Cuban and Latin American saboteurs wreaked havoc on our southwestern military bases and the Cuban army moved through Mexico. Spetsnaz forces flew in on disguised planes to look like commercial flights and secured the mountain passes (where the movie took place) and the Russians hit Alaska and moved South through Canada. But the remaining U.S. forces stopped them at the Rockies and the Mississippi River. So I guess Lousyana would have been under occupation.
