Yes. I’d spend my days working out, playing with muh dogs and going to Saints games

I'm not telling anyone shite until I have all of my ducks in a row. That includes staying at my job for awhile, just to keep up appearances.

But once those ducks are in a row, it's hasta la vista, baby.

I would train one or two of my kids to take over for me and run the charitable foundation eventually, and manage its investments with the investment profits going to their salary and charitable causes we select, while maintaining the assets of the foundation so that it can last a while. But the foundation would not be named after me. It would have a generic name. Everyone who cared to would find out it is me, but I would not go around trumpeting it.

along similar lines, if we're talking the 100MMs area, i'm going to go build a business on the wrong side of the tracks in my town and offer child care and transportation to the lower income families. if it fails, tax write off and i tried.

i've read that plenty of rich folk do this as a service to their communities to give jobs and have an investment, but also use it as a giant tax write off if it goes poorly. i do genuinely want to help, but i'm also not giving something for nothing to able bodied people.

i look at it like “if I was making a good salary how long would it take me to make this much money?”

of the answer is like 20-30 years why work?

live you’re you’re making a really good salary.

I have a cousin that would be drawn like a moth to a flame.

I’d seriously consider giving him a “loan” that would only become due and payable if I ever saw him again.

Of course I’m quitting my job. Probably only telling 1-2 family members.

I’ll finance the sale of my business to a deserving employee and remain on as a consultant until they’re ready to go. At that point, I’m out and not telling many folks. However, I’m not trashy and don’t buy lotto tickets.

$10M would be very tempting to quit working.

The vast majority of people won't even come close to making $10M in their entire careers.

Hell at my age, I’d quit tomorrow if I cleared 500k! The fight would be from kissing the wife as I send her arse off to work in the morning.

Just read an article earlier today on that 30 year old California guy who won the $2 Billion Powerball.

Took the lump sum for like $900+ million

Already bought a $4 million dollar house
$25 million dollar house
$50 million dollar house

I think all 3 are in California too

Article said he was buying rare sports cars, etc

So it’s known he already spent damn near 10% on shite that’s gonna cost a whole bunch more to maintain, and who knows what kind of other FU money buddy has probably been throwing around these last several months around the world. What a wild ride he’s probably on, and no way it ends well

I'll at least wait until they fire me for not showing up first. Never know, might get lucky and get a couple extra weeks out of it

can't say for sure I would quit my job, but I would definitely give it a lot of thought. I think eventually I would, but not immediately. As for telling anyone, I would try and keep it as quiet as I could because I don't want every charitable organization or any long, lost family members blowing up my phone or suddenly showing up at my doorstep.

I wouldn't stop working per se, but I would set up myself financially to live off of the proceeds from the money. If I have hundreds of millions in the bank 3/4 is going to set up my family on passive income for life (dividends, property, investing...), and the other 1/4 is going to fun stuff (travel, overseas property, boats, obnoxiously expensive things )

Being that it takes about 6 weeks to get the money, I will keep working up until I get it. I wouldn't tell any family members until I actually git the money and that would only be my parents. I would immediately get a team of lawyers and set up my Trusts

I would quit, but I’ve been at my organization 26 years. I’d stick around for a month to help them transition. I’d still answer their call if they needed something after I was gone.
