I had one at the LSU student union for 4 years when I was in grad school. It makes it easy to get to mail everyday when your on campus anyways and not have to be concerned about changing your address every year if you move.

Every time some one has given me a P.O. box as their address I assumed they were quasi homeless or for whatever reason couldn’t hold down a house/apartment but had enough wherewithal to realize they needed an actual mailing address. So far I have no reason to believe I’ve been wrong.
ETA: I should add that my assumption is based on these people’s known history, not just a hunch. I’ve never had a person who I knew had their shite together give me a P.O. box address.

Lots of small businesses have them, but you don't know it because the address for their box has a suite number instead of a box number.

Those arent PO Boxes. Those are mail boxes at service facilities like a UPS Store.

I had one all 5 years of college. Lived in a dorm and fraternity house. Now I work for a multi-national company, and our official mailing address is a PO box.
