I pay my entire Federal and state income tax bill on Feb 28. Would you do that if you could?

have not had a salary since 2003. I would find a salary demoralizing and I’m too lazy by nature to keep my head in the game without a financial motivation

Well I guess that’s why I would invest wisely.

I'd assume the hypothetical has everything being the exact same except for the date of the check.

Sure. I rarely know when it’s payday anyway.

I manage my money pretty conservatively. If I didn't get paid for a year, or if I won a million bucks, my lifestyle wouldn’t change very much either way.

Absolutely, and I’d use the money to make money instantly.

I worked at a company that had employees in diamond mines in Africa and South America. They were paid in full every two years. It was some sort of tax benefit that I never understood. Some took money out of investment accounts but I spoke to two that only received income every 24 months.

I wouldn’t make it to January 15th. I’d be dead about the fourteenth from all the blow and hookers.

Absolutely. I typically save $5000-$6000/month. Would be nice to have that to invest sooner.

You can find high interest checking and savings accounts that yield 2.5% interest.

Why do you pay your federal income tax liability 45 days early? I understand filing early if you have a refund coming, but if I owe, I wait until April 15th. frick those guys. They've had some of my withholding for over 15 months. I'm not sending another nickel until I have to.
