If there was some technology that could put you in the body of someone fighting in WWII would you do it? Like some virtual reality deal. You may or may not die. You could be anybody you choose but could only be that person and would be in that VR for as long as that person lasted in the war. You feel the pain of getting injured and everything.

Personally, dick winters would be who eye (iPhone) would choose. Would you do it?

Edit: you wouldn’t actually die. Just be able to see the war thru someone who actually fought in the war’s eyes. But you could only do it once. So you pick one person and live that reality thru that person for however long they made it.

Well, that takes the danger out of it. Most people would just choose someone that wasn't killed or injured.

Theoretically, you wouldn’t be able to see how long they lasted or if they were injured. Just pick someone.

Also, the persons to be eligible to be picked wouldn’t be killed instantly or within the first day of being in theatre.

I read a memoir of a blimp pilot stationed in Miami. By day he cruised around looking for nonexistent Uboats. By night he hit the clubs slaying swing era poon. I choose him.

In a heartbeat. Grandpa fought on Guadalcanal & Iwo Jima and made it back. Never got to talk to him. Would love to see what he went through.

I don’t have that much time to waste playing video games. Might be like a 3 or 4 yr long sojourn.

I think it’d be more fun to go back further in history. To be a knight or a Hun or a Viking.

My grandfather served in WW2, I'd never want to live the horrors he told and saw me. Grown men pissing themselves, screaming for their moms, men who killed for no other reason then they were told to. Kids no older then 18 who couldn't even grow facial hair shot and killed within moments of arriving. He witnessed people turn their guns on themselves and kill themselves because they didn't want to fight, so yeah, no I'm good on that. I've no interest in re-living any of that or seeing any of it. That's just his fellow soldiers too, not even the POW's, ovens filled with ashes of the Jewish or ditches full of bodies.
