Downloaded it and it is extremely impressive. We are gonna give this one a try and see how it works out.

does the normal course you play at offer a discount for a GHIN membership? If so, do that. If not, i highly recommend The Grint

It does but neither of these options offer what we are looking for.

Looking for golf game tracking app

Posted by jgoodw318 on 10/7/25 at 7:49 pm
Most of the time I play golf is in a group that has close to 60 members of varying HCs from +3 to 20. One the weekdays we play a team game with A, B, C, and D players utilizing the stableford system. On the weekends we play individual play, still utilizing stableford but taking half points and half net score and then finding the ordinal ranking off that breakdown. One of our members built a massive excel program to keep up with everything, and I mean everything. He puts in everybodies scores from every round played to keep up with HC, and uses the program to calculate individual scores and placing on the weekends. Recently it has started messing up and causing issues with weekend scores.

Anybody’s regular group utilize an app to keep up with all that? HC, scoring, etc.

As a born and bred Cowboys fan, who lived thru the championship 90s and the dulldrums since, you couldn’t be more wrong. Jerry has done a LOT of really good things as the owner of the Cowboys. But he is an absolute shite GM. He overpays for players that he could’ve paid cheaper if he just pays them a tiny bit early. And then those guys leave OR turn into mid/somewhat above average players. The Cowboys will NEVER win another SB as long as Jerry Jones is alive. And HE is the reason.

Played earlier this summer. It’s fantastic. Played Cortez, Ponce de Leon, Granada, and Isabella.

I know what he owns. I’ve been a “member” there for the past 6 years. And I was the salesman for Hargrove that put the new roof on the clubhouse at Stonebridge. So I know Ji and his wife Sue personally. Don’t like either of them.

As far as the cart paths go, fix is a loose term. He didn’t spend any of his money to fix anything. An angel donor gifted Stonebridge $250k for things like the roof, the fountains, cart paths, etc. I believe Ji used a roofing crew to do the work to the cart paths. Once the city found out, and once they figured out that he didn’t file any permits to do the work, they put a stop to it. Also gave him a certain amount of time to tear up and re-do the work. I think the serving has more to do with that than anything.

Same reason Stonebridge is in the worst shape it's ever been in as well.

I don’t know when the last time you played Stonebridge was. I played it on Saturday. It’s in the best shape I’ve seen it in 3-4 yrs. The only bad greens are 5 and 8, which always struggle because of the trees that surround them. Stonebridge is funny in that it the course always struggles coming out of winter but by the time we get to this point in the year it’s in pretty dad gum good shape. But I haven’t seen it this nice in a few years.

All that said, the owners absolutely suck arse. I heard from a very reliable source the Ji was served by the Feds last week. What he was served with or for I have not heard yet.

Go play Huntington or Querbes as they are in great shape.

Anybody that says this hasn’t played Stonebridge in a while. Both Huntington and Querbes have come a long way from where they were, but aren’t close in terms of shape of the course compared to Stonebridge.

I know a bit about your dad and I know your uncle

Fair chance we’ve met before as well
I’ve put this story in here before, but it’s been a while.

My dad went to Huntington and is 2 yrs older than Joey (how he always referred to him) and Terry. He has lots of stories about playing with them growing up. I got to meet him in 95 when I was 5 yrs old at Huntington Golf Course. I was shocked when the best player in the league knew my dad and called him over to come chat for a while. Mountain of a man then.

So my grandmother worked for The Shreveport Times for a very long time. Back when Albert was going thru some issues in Cleveland, some reporter from the Plain Dealer called the Times asking to talk to anybody who knew Albert Belle from when he was younger. That reporter ended up getting dads number and called him. So he answers some questions and doesn’t think anything of it. About a week or two goes by and my dad gets an office call from Terry who informs my dad that “Joey is pissed about what you said. Why would you say all that bad stuff about Joey?” What my dad told that journalist was that Joey Belle was one of the nicest, smartest human beings on planet earth. However, once he stepped inside those white lines he became the biggest a-hole on planet earth. You can guess what part that journalist decided to print and decided to omit from his story. Both things were true about Belle, but I have never heard my dad speak one bad word against Joey Belle in all the stories he told us.

Great course and 2 minutes from my house.

Where do you play most of your golf? Chance we might know each other

Palmetto Country Club in Benton

I work for the local FD in Benton. Had to preplan the old clubhouse there that is now “office space” for Willis Knighton. I stood in the old bar area which looked out the back towards the course and just got depressed about the place failing. If it could’ve held on for a few more years it would be thriving right now. Sad that Stonebridge is really the only place there is to play golf in Bossier Parish. Especially sad for those of us who live in Benton and the north part of the parish.

That Performance Tonight - Kade

Posted by jgoodw318 on 4/3/25 at 8:52 pm
Anderson’s performance tonight was way more impressive than anything Paul Skenes ever did. Straight up. Paul Skenes is the best pitcher I’ve ever personally seen at LSU but that performance tonight, 136 pitch CG shutout in the cold and rain, is the best I’ve ever seen.

Not to mention it was off a fake mound.

The points all count

I’m not worried for points to get to the national tournament at the end of the season. I’m trying to make my flight team for our Ryder cup style event we have with another tour. The only points outside our tour that count are those earned at national regional events, which I won’t be playing in. And I also work as a firefighter so it’s not just my sons schedule I have to play around. It’s my work schedule as well.
Chennault is in the middle of May. I can only play in certain tourneys because of work, kids, etc. I would probably skip Chennault but I need as many points as I can get. Can’t play in any of the two day tourneys rest of the year, those are the big point getters. So I have to play well in the other tourneys I get to play in order to finish high on the point list in my flight.

I wish I could dude. Can’t play again until maybe Chennault in Monroe because of my sons tee ball season. But I love Cypress! Definitely recommend playing in the practice round and staying the night. Hopefully yall don’t have the wind we had there last year!

Multiple club pros through the year told me to play to the 150 marker. You’ll always have a clear, flat approach shot.

That was my plan. 5 iron to the fairway. Layup to that flat area. Pushed my 5 iron right and my punch out ran down the slope to the left side of the hole. Still had a decent look at par. But 4 jacked it and then things started moving very fast on the greens for me. Hard to win tournaments when you have as many putts as I did Saturday.
I was cruising right along until I got to the 3rd green. It was my 8th hole of the day. Hit my tee ball in the trees right. Recovery punch out I thought was good but kept running to the left so had to chip up to the correct side of the fairway. Hit my 4th shot to 15’ short of the pin. Thought I was in perfect position, walk away with bogey at worst. Ended up 4 putting and then had a stretch of 3 putts following that. 40 putts total on the day and all of my 3 putts came after the 3rd hole. Rough day.
