Really? What if you were given a salary of $1M a year to simply live in New Orleans? That's it. Not catch. You wouldn't take it then?
Nope

A girl I was friends with in high school family used to own the Latter library, before it was the library, of course. Her grandmother sold it to the Latters.

I love that Craftsman style. My grandparents had a a big Craftsman bungalow Uptown and I loved playing there as a kid. The dumbwaiter was my favorite thing to play in. Unfortunately my parents sold it as I'd love to have bought it from them.

Is this a craftsman style home? I know it's a much bigger and grandiose - probably 8,000 + square feet, easily. I don't hold myself off to be polished in all forms of architecture, but we have plenty of English tudor and craftsman style homes in Nashville. The craftsmen homes more resemble the following:

St Charles in NO eh? It would have to be the one with Wuhan Virus so it'd kill me quick! Couldn't pay me to live in that river debris and human wasteland called New Orleans again.

You sound like a pussy.

Been inside. Can confirm it's nice. Personally, and not that I'd turn down the cash equivalent of the house, I prefer smaller confines. I wouldn't know what to do with anything over 2,000 sq. ft. of space.

There are some absolutely awesome homes on that street.

Also if you’ve ever played red dead redemption 2 the mansions in Saint Denis are just a copy of St Charles St homes. The whole city of St Denis is almost an exact copy of New Orleans, at least the old part of Nola

I'd convert Latter Library to a private residence.

Excellent choice. Mine would be the house on the corner of St. Charles and Exposition Boulevard on the Park.

I grew up most of my childhood in an old plantation home. It was 7,000 square feet and a pain in the arse to heat/cool and the upkeep on it was ridiculous. And we didn’t even use the upstairs didn’t have enough furniture or people. Just stored crap up there

They’re really cool homes and I’d love to own one because that type of style and detail and beauty doesn’t exist in new homes. But you better have a lot of money if you want one because you’ll constantly work on it, and it’s not very practical or efficient unless you have a large family.

My cousin owns one. They left the first two floors authentic and redid the third floor with modern conveniences. That's where they spend most of their time.
