Most of the places people are saying would have been a good answer before covid. These places have collectively lost their minds since then.
A freedom loving state in the US is still tops, but with the clowns in Washington that seems like it’s changing too

Can foreigners own land in Thailand?
No. I lived in Thailand for about a year and saw a few instances of Farang being screwed over by Thai women and their families. The guys not only take care of the Thai girls, but their whole family, buy a property, and in many cases it sounds like get screwed over

I enjoyed living there but the USA blows it out the water. Obviously cost of living can be phenomenal there and the food is really good.
My wife and I are actually planning on moving to Europe in about 2 to 3 years. Since she’s originally from there it should make life easier for me there too.

Denmark because of family ties. I learned Danish as a child, and I already watch Danish news and TV shows every day.

I understand that the USA ‘blows Thailand out the water’.. but ur bio says you live in Oahu… if you can afford to live well in Oahu, that’s awesome.. for me, im looking to retire early in a couple yrs, and CANNOT afford Oahu without working.. but ive heard it said that certain parts of Thailand, specifically places like Koh Samui and some other islands, are ‘like Hawaii but cheaper’…. Do you think if i just had property to rent out in the US, and avoided buying property in Thailand (and thus getting screwed over by Thai women) - having lived there, do you think it’d be possible to have an Hawaii-like quality of life at like 1/10th the cost in Thailand ?

Middle of nowhere in Norway
Yes sir. Good choice. Set off for a hike in the south west part of the country and you could disappear for as long as you would like. The folks down there are very friendly but not the type to really make the first move. If you want to be left alone they will 100 percent respect it. Now screw up and be friendly to them you’ve got friends for life.
