Are you leaving Baton Rouge for these places? Just curious.
I would probably go to a place like Tennessee, maybe even Kentucky. I enjoy all four seasons. Tennessee is gorgeous in the fall.
What's your primary reason to leave? Schools? Jobs? What exactly are you trying to escape? You need to help us understand your motivations in order for us to better guide your life decision
I live in Richmond currently. Only place we'd move back to in LA is Nola/North shore but don't really have a desire to do so.
I finish residency in a year and a half. Just looking for a job. I would like to only move once, but it certainly if I hated be somewhere I stay for a few years before moving again.
Not trying to escape anything particular. We like a somewhat decent metro that has things to do around the city or nearby, but I don't need to live in an Atlanta, d.c., etc major metropolis.

I actually don’t know. I can tell you the airport is nice, but that’s all I’ve seen of Charlotte.
I actually hear it’s a great place though.

We have membership requirements, baw.
1. Can you make your own roux?
2. Can you cook a fricassee'? Gumbo? Sauce piquant?
3. Do you know what constitutes the Cajun Holy Trinity?
Forgot:
4. Can you speak in an accent that anyone outside of Evangeline Parish won't understand?
Lmao! I swear, I can't understand some of them boys half the time.
Big fan of Last of the Mohicans?

It's really nice out there, hell most of North Carolina is nice with the exception of Fayetteville. frick that place.
Fayetteville is 1000x nicer than Jacksonville is.

Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh. Good sized cities with lots to do. Charleston, Savannah, Asheville, Knoxville, Chattanooga would be too small. Atlanta is too big.

Area around Jekyll Island, Boone NC, Chattanooga, Asheville (Hot Springs area). No particular area. Definitely not Knoxville or Savannah.

New Braunfels Texas
It’s 30 min north of San Antonio and 45 min south of Austin.
20 min east of canyon lake and the Guadalupe river runs right through it.
Gateway to Texas Hill country, You’re welcome.,

We enjoy it a lot. No major city identity. Personally this does not bother me at all but some really want that type of thing in their home city.
Love the proximity to the destinations we prefer - mountains in <2 hours, ocean in 3 hours, several good sized lakes very close
Traffic seems to be getting a bit worse b/c people are moving here at a rapid pace! I can't believe how quickly the surrounding suburbs are expanding
