Asheville unfortunately does not have many jobs. Unless you’re in medical or an inspired brew master.

Try New Iberia. Ask for the haircut when you get there and need a trim

Visited often when I was stationed at Fort Bragg and had worked for a company that has their second largest campus in Durham. This would probably be my choice as some of the areas with the exception of Raleigh aren't much more expensive to live in. It's really nice out there, hell most of North Carolina is nice with the exception of Fayetteville. frick that place.

Durham or somewhere nearby would be my choice given the number of major tech companies with a presence there.

We have membership requirements, baw.

1. Can you make your own roux?
2. Can you cook a fricassee'? Gumbo? Sauce piquant?
3. Do you know what constitutes the Cajun Holy Trinity?

You can even visit this guy to buy a new home, or not, he don't care.

Hell there are some great houses available for less than $450k. Not calling that super cheap but it’s not exactly expensive.

That's pretty expensive for most of the South. I wouldn't buy a 450k house with less than 200k income unless I had a big downpayment

Naples is utopia. But it is expensive and not many jobs. Or young people. I love the constant awesome weather and beaches 10 minutes away.

I’m jaded I guess.

$450k might get you a 1br in a shitty neighborhood here.
