Agreed Texas is one of best State Schools in USA (as is UF) and has great reach, but if you are going to NYC,LA,Chicago international etc, Vandy is alone among the 14 SEC schools.

Nope

Texas is the highest ranked MBA in the SEC. For work, I interact a great deal with Wall Street guys. They would laugh you out of the room if you suggested a Vandy MBA would get you farther in NYC than one from McCombs.

LSU online is the obvious answer.

If you put that degree on your dashboard, you are allowed to park in handicap parking spaces.

Same with Computer Science. UT Austin is easily top 10 in the field, and that's true of both undergrad and graduate programs. Vandy is... IDK... top 100, probably?

Vandy Law School for whatever is beyond their intro. (A friend is still paying off hers, but has a lucrative enough practice that it was worth the money.)

The school is irrelevant. The type of degree is what matters. An advanced degree in gender studies or Social Work from Vandy doesn’t equal an advanced degree in Engineering from Mississippi State.

What does this mean? A JD is a doctorate. If you’re referring to an LLM, there’s not one LLM at Vandy that’s worth getting.

The only LLMs worth getting are tax LLMs from a NY school, Georgetown, or UF

Vandy is the most prestigious SEC school when it comes to academics. I don't think anyone honestly denies that and would get upset at the suggestion.

My nephew has an Electrical Engineering BS from Vanderbilt. He got hired by Space X and is making bank.

Vandy, Texas, Georgia or Florida

Adding LSU to the list just for hometown pride

I've had opportunities at Texas and Texas A&M but didn't pull the trigger fast enough on Texas, and I'd rather not ever be an aggy in any capacity so I've purposely avoided getting mine done there

You forgot Northwestern and UVA

If we were talking JDs in the SEC and count Texas then both Texas and Vandy are right outside the coveted T14. UGA is by far the best value in a high-level law school (regardless of conference), If you are in state, it is an absolute steal. UGA is top 20 and 3 years of instate is cheaper than 1 year at any T14.
