If you choose to be a good person, is doing so for the sole purpose of your notion of a spirit self living for eternity in a realm of non-earthly existence that legend says is better than Earthly pleasures the most moral way to live a life?
The moral way to live a life on Earth is to live this life in a way that promotes pro-human advancement. Respect each other and do no harm to others. If embracing Christ as the role model to follow helps people make good decisions, that’s great. But with all the human variance, why suggest everyone must have the same role model as long as we pursue the same positive goals behind advancing life on Earth?

My problem is that there are too many gods/religions to follow. So how do you know you are following the right one?
Which is why Atheism is better. Don’t waste your time and save your tithes and life is good.
That, and enjoy life because I guarantee you this is it. Believing we’re more special than bacteria is narcissistic.

I'm atheist. I choose to not be an a-hole. I choose to conform to the legal constructs that the country I live in has laid out. Why? Because it makes life so much more enjoyable to live. Why go through life being argumentative and always getting in trouble for doing things that are illegal?

Human beings are mostly idiots. If there is a God, heaven and hell I do not know why anyone would think they're capable of fully understanding those things because our consciousness is limited just like every other living being. Can your dog ever fully learn to understand and speak English just because he knows a handful of commands? I'm Catholic and choose to believe but I don't even attempt to act like I fully understand what God, heaven or hell is. I'd rather live my life in accordance with Jesus' teachings regardless because it's a better way to live.

Then why do so many “Christians” preach about bowing down before Jesus or God? That’s not a partnership.
Head of household is not a true partnership either.
Where did the messaging take such an authoritarian detour?

I didn’t say that it was an equal partnership. Brides are supposed to submit to their husbands as the head of household.
But it’s much more of a partnership than this “authoritarian” claim.

I think following Christ and hedging my bets on living in paradise forever is a better option and if I die and neither happens, then at least I died living like you, loving my neighbor as enjoyment and being a good person.

The whole concept of people being tortured forever in burning hell seems incompatible with the idea that God is Love. Especially since people are imperfect to begin with and alive on earth for a nanosecond of time compared to eternity.
Not saying some POS don't deserve the max punishment, but forever seems like overkill for 99% of sinners.

Assuming an equal partnership is a valid default setting. Each person may find/develop a different specialized role, but that doesn’t make it less of an equal partnership.
Why are brides supposed to submit to their husbands? Because the dudes that wrote the bible said so, under the guise of “God told me so”?
