If schools and daycares are back open, can we please open playgrounds back up!

I have a 3 year old that has endless energy, and all he wants to do is run around and climb in shite.

Our couches and furniture have taken enough assault during this shutdown.

How can they justify keeping all the public playgrounds closed when schools and daycares are back open?

Are they closed? I've seen kids outside at playgrounds since day 1.

Just go take him. Is there a gate around it or something? Worse thing that happens is a cop comes and says to leave but I doubt they’d do that.

Last playground we went to that was "closed," we just went under the very scary yellow warning tape and on to the playground. As I was passing under the tape, I had a brief thought of all the thousands I would be killing by my actions, but eh, my kid needs to blow off some steam.

The playgrounds here are "closed" but I have seen people enjoying them the whole time.

Nope, not opening them. That would give up a modicum of the power that was so easily seized. It is more lucrative to issue $500 fines to people than to let them leave the house.

People ripped that BS down in BTR months ago.

They even had it up blocking access to tennis courts....are you kitting me?? That’s about as much of a no contact sport as you can get.

Damn. Our playgrounds opened back in May.

I remember our City stopped cutting the grass at our parks thinking it would discourage people from hanging out at the parks, but people just starting cutting the grass themselves. It was great.

Did they? In my neighborhood, in league city, two of the three near my house still have the yellow tape on them.

The playgrounds at my kids schools are not being used. They play on the sports fields.

Go early in the morning and remove all the tape.

Yes they did and even when the state started to close back down, they did not close the parks and playgrounds again.

This was a statewide, however you are close to the shitshow that is Harris County. It would only be political to not open them where you are, the rest of Texas is doing fine.
