re: Do You Believe Demonic Possession is Real?
Posted by Question on 9/18/25 at 12:09 am to captdalton
Yes I believe it is real, and yes I have experienced it. I believe it’s real, not just bc I’ve seen it, but also bc the Bible says so.
From personal experience, you can take this for what it’s worth, I’ve seen people “manifest” demonic things in different ways. Here’s a couple encounters that I’m sure many will write off but doesn’t matter to me.
In one occasion, it was a transgender individual. At first, they were clear upfront that they were “Phoebe” a goddess from an ancient pharaoh (his words not mine). He would dialogue but anytime the word of God would start being spoke, he would leave. Eventually, he began to stay around, and he began to renounce everything. He had all kinds of crystals and jewelry with demonic things on it. He got better for awhile, but got sucked back into that lifestyle.
Another person would literally fall asleep anytime the Bible was quoted. It was the oddest situation. Full blown conversation and then asleep as soon as you’d read scripture.
I have a few others if there’s anyone interested. At the end of the day though, through Christ we have an authority by His Spirit. While there are moments of fear, ultimately He is reason for freedom and He has always brought me peace.

Jesus is revered as a prophet
I agree with you, but it's a little more than that. They believe there is a "Jesus" that is a prophet, but it is not Jesus of the Bible. They believe Jesus of the Bible is a false prophet, and the antichrist in their end times of events. Christian vs Muslim eschatology are almost polar opposites. The Muslim antichrist comes riding through Jerusalem on something like a donkey (sound familiar?). He will claim that he could do all these miracles and even deceive some. In the end times, the "true Jesus", who they consider a prophet, will come in and tell everyone that they got it wrong. He too will do some miracles to show he's valid but he will direct everyone's attention to the Madhi, who is the true messiah. "Jesus" will correct the misconception and ascribe worship to the Madhi. This is almost the exact opposite of the Revelation account in the Bible. Essentially, swap false prophet with their "Jesus", and the beast with the Madhi. From a Christian perspective, which I am, I've always been curious, "With all the writing in the Bible about the mark of the beast, end times, etc., how could so many be deceived?" Well, if you have a miracle-worker claiming to be Jesus and saying, "it's okay, Christians, you got it wrong. This is the guy you're looking for."
It's been awhile since I read about this so this is from memory and feel free to push back.
If I remember right, didn’t JDM break his forearm early in the burns fight? Also burns’ bjj vs belal is pretty big difference, I’d think that play a factor in how you handle takedowns and getting back up. Belal is big on pace though so how does that pan for JDM over 5? Could be wrong, but I don’t see this as an easy fight for belal. JDM is good with body shot combos, he’s not just a headhunter

It has been doing this from the beginning, even fabricating research and attributing it to real people
I was actually coming to post this. ChatGPT can be resourceful but I would be very careful utilizing it for specific reliable information. I noticed this recently as I asked for certain evidenced-based practices on a topic. It provided information that seemed really good on its surface. When I began to check the sources, I couldn't find them. When I asked it for the doi numbers, it said that provided fake sources. It then provided me with "real" sources. When checked, they too were fake. This proceeded for several attempts and I eventually gave up on it. This is the second time it has done it to me. My advice is if you use it, at least try to verify it afterwards.
My main concern was how many medical providers have relied on it to give them up-to-date info, and took it at face value?
Two of my kids (8 and 6) brought one to me this morning that I thought was pretty good. It was a perfect storm. I couldn't sleep after waking up at 2am, so I stayed up until 5 and dozed back off. They woke me up from a dead sleep at 7am saying our youngest one peed the bed. I was quietly enraged and just told them to leave. They could tell I was mad so they told me April Fools and gave me a hug. I was surprised at their ability to come up with it on the fly and actually proud to be their dad

Like I said, worth a shot  brutal

According to him, it’s a lot of work, meaning several problems due each week. Basic math stuff. Just seeing if anyone has had her bc online I saw a few say her practice tests vs actual tests were identical. Before I give my buddy this advice, bc I’ve had professors in those early classes do (just pull from a test bank) bc they lacked any creativity, seeing if anyone could confirm this is the case?
 the OT is awesome. These responses won’t help his ego, but I’ll send it to him nevertheless.
To his credit, he’s been out of school for 10+ years

LSU online course question
Posted by Question on 1/28/25 at 9:42 pm
I have a buddy that’s going back to school. He had a question about the following class:
Lindsay Waddell
Math 1021
LSU online
The reviews on rate my professor are all over the place from terrible to awesome teacher. Anyone have experience? What to expect for tests? Some reviews said identical to practice tests. He said it’s a lot of work and is unsure what to expect. Figured asking was worth a shot since many lsu grads on here. TIA

Need to travel back to LC from Covington today. I can be flexible on when I leave. Better to leave this morning or wait til later?
Not sure if it’s been discussed but to everyone who uses it for maybe school or research purposes, be careful. I have to write the occasional research article. Over the years, I’ll use ChatGPT to do a brief literature review to find relevant articles for support. The results it yields are usually well summarized and helpful; however, after digging into the cited sources more, some can’t be found. The information seems logical; however, you can eventually determine by the search engines on admission that it made up the source material. Just a heads up, to not put all your trust in this thing. It can be helpful but it’s not as “smart” as you think.
Travel after thanksgiving

Traveling from Covington back to Lake Charles. Is today (Friday) or tomorrow a better day to do it to avoid traffic? Traveling over here was chaotic
There’s not one image of any nutcracker. What am I missing?

Honest question: are we sure this is still the case? It’s possible that he’s just going to hang out with other scumbags with no respect for life. This is despicable

I have no shame in saying that I have central and eastern time zones locked in, everything else is just an educated guess
Thanks, didn't see it

Topuria is good and I like to watch him fight. The only area we haven't seen him tested in is the deep waters of late round fights, which max is incredible at. Max is a dog and his fights are always great. He's always prepared. I can foresee this being a banger. It's a hard one to pick. I don't see Max getting KO'd though. It'll either be a decision either way or Max by stoppage imo.
As for Whittaker, I can't see Khamzat winning unless it's in the first round. We've seen in his most recent fights where he begins to fade. Knuckles is so good. If it doesn't happen early, I could see this as a 4-1 for Whittaker.
I'm glad it's an early card. The cards lately have been going to nearly 1am
