I think the Black Lives Matter movement needs to change its name.
Maybe go with, Only Black Lives (that were taken by white people) Matter.
Somehow Blacks and overly guilty non-blacks don't give a shite about the thousands of black folks that die every year from murder by their own race.
I guess they don't count since they can't be used for political gain?

my friend Kandy had 350k seized in a civil forfeiture. The police still have her money. 14 years of savings working 12 hour days working in massage industry. Disgusting humans in the vice department that did that. Where is the justice!

I 100% agree with you on all your points. Mental health is perhaps one of our biggest domestic issues IMO.
And while Civil Asset Forfeiture is really a separate issue from any of this, I bet you if we took a poll of TD users, it would be even more uniformly unpopular than marijuana laws. It's a no brainer topic that unfortunately remains a disconnect from the will of the public.

That sucks, but it doesn't follow that black parents should tell their children to be afraid of cops hunting them down. Men of any race have like a 10% chance of police-initiated contact in a year and you literally have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than being killed by a cop

cop killings of unarmed people should be zero. no one should tolerate that. civilians killing cops should be zero, but thats never going to happen.

No one is building any psych hospitals, from what I can tell, even though psych units are always full. It’s going to be a massive problem going forward, even larger than it is now. I don’t even know of a politician who is talking about it.
You might as well try to break the police unions too, as they are what makes police reform so difficult.
For me, ultimately, police cannot afford to have that many bad apples, because they are, for better or worse, the most visible representatives of the state, and when they behave egregiously, it weakens the social contract. There have been nearly 100 riots in this country, both labor and race, linked to some police interaction which went south. I wish what happened to Dennis Tuttle, or Tanisha Anderson, or any number of police interactions where police acted poorly were the straw that broke the camel’s back. But it’s true that police in the US don’t treat citizens all that well, especially in comparison to other developed countries. I wish people saw the chance we had to reform police, but I’m afraid that’s probably gone now.

Yeah man. See I got picked up for burglary when I was like 22 and did some time. Not a big deal. I did the minimum. Like...pretty minimal.

Me? I was coming home from soccer practice with my son. I was a BPAR coach. My DWI was when I was 22.

They actually are. Considering that over 50% of violent crimes are committed by ~6.5% population you would think that a vast majority of the officer involved deaths would be skewed that way....but they aren’t.
