I got a '15 SR5 Premium and love it. You can't go wrong with a 4Runner.

How does the "pleather" in the sr5 compare to the limited? I'll be deciding on something for the wife soon.

Not close to the same. Limited also has cooled and heated leather. We test drove both with every intention of buying the SR5 premium but the differences were significant enough to splurge for the limited, which we did.

We have a 2012 and I swear the damn thing has gremlins living inside it somewhere. Nothing expensive just little bullshite issues. Also the transmission is not very smooth

Avoid Acadia's as well

What's up with the 4Runner window controls being placed so high up on the door (by the window ledge)? Kind of a silly design choice IMO

Toyo is REALLY proud of the 4Runner but it is the epitome of a 15 year vehicle if that is truly your intentions

Do you really NEED an SUV? I find that very few people do.

I had a 03 4Runner, great vehicle put about 95K on it, no issues, sold it to a friend. We drove a 2016 and it was nice, but wanted a more comfy ride, so we bought a Highlander. Super nice riding vehicle.

Everyone has their preferences. I went for, under 40k and doesn't look like a minivan. If they had to have a toyota, the rav 4's are nice.

When we bought my wife's vehicle, she initially wanted a 4Runner but the salesman suggested test driving a Highlander as well. MUCH smoother ride if you're concerned with that. It has a ton of room inside as well. We love it. A very, very high quality vehicle.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but the driver's compartment in the Terrain feels incredibly tight and small. I test drove one of those and just felt like I was squeezed in compared to the competing vehicles in that space.

TBH I've never driven one, just thought they looked half decent and fit the " Not a minivan " category.

We're in the market for a 4Runner at the moment. I can't stand that the '14-16 SR5 Premium model went to the pure white color as opposed to the off-white.

So its either buy a '13 limited in white, or a newer premium in black or grey.

Funny you mention that, when we drove the one I mentioned in my other post, and ultimately bought the highlander, I noticed that too, and really didn't like that placement.
Wasn't the reason I didn't buy it, but I sure didn't like that.

Another vote for the 4runner. I'm a Ford guy, wife has driven Explorers for the last 15 years. If you want rear wheel drive, and an actual frame under the car, you don't have many choices in mid-size. 4runner and Durango are about it. Government Motors is out of the question for me.

Love ours so far.
