Highlander, which I like but looks too much like a van. Looking for a reliable SUV to drive the next 15yrs/100k miles. I do less than 7K miles/yr. Don't want to go over $40K too much. Anyone with a Toyo 4runner?

I got a '15 SR5 Premium and love it. You can't go wrong with a 4Runner.

How do you only drive 7K miles a year?

Just went through this. I was dead set on 4Runner. Wife (no pics) drove one, drove like a truck. Drove a highlander, drove like the Camry, plus a little too small for us. Ended up going with Explorer. Got a good deal on it also. Better than what Toyota dealership could come up with.

It IS a truck. That's its whole appeal. Last of the real SUVs, other than the Tahoe/Yukon, Expedition, Sequoia, Armada, and Land Cruiser.

Live less than 3 miles from work. Take other family vehicles for traveling, which is limited to begin with.

2016 Mazda CX-9. Newly redesigned for 2016 and I really like the look of it.

I have a 2013 4Runner, love it.

Yes, it drives like a truck, because it's on a truck platform.

Gas mileage is good, not great, but it sounds like you don't do a lot of driving anyway.

How much were you able to negotiate?

A toyo internet salesman guy was trying to give me this deal.

Interior Color: Black/ Graphite

The limited 4Runner has a nicer suspension for regular use.

Just FYI

I had a Buick enclave as a rental once. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was and how great it drove.

We have a Tahoe that I love but it's outside your budget.

Someone told me once that you can't get a 4Runner with KDSS in the Gulf States Toyota territory. Is it really just that you can only have it in Limited trim? Our GX460 (Lexus-ified 4Runner with full-time 4x4 and a lockable diff) has KDSS and whoa man, does it make a difference compared to the regular 4Runner suspension. KDSS makes it the best cornering and all-around driving real SUV I have ever driven, by an enormous amount.

As a parent of 4, 4 cyl 7 passenger Highlander or the Sequoia.

I would not get 4 Runner unless I had one kid and less expenses.

If you don't plan on going offroad, then there are lots of better choices than the 4runner.

If you DO plan on going offroad, there are very few better choices than the 4runner.
