Well what are you looking for?

Because there is plenty of uptown that isn’t built for most.
I work uptown and the house next door has been shot up twice. The house next to that has 3 college chicks. So you really never know what you’re getting some places. Some areas of uptown are straight hood, some are the rich, others mixed...
young and single uptown I would suggest the channel, or areas off Freret.

Thoroughly enjoy living Uptown. Don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Plus I didn't flood at all yesterday

Old Metairie and just take an Uber when you go out.

Less chances of getting shot.

I'm in my late 20's, single and live in Lakeview. I would suggest Uptown. It really depends on his age and what kind of scene he is looking for. CBD/Warehouse District would be cool but I feel like the cost of living is not worth it.

The saulet apartments are nice, convenient, it's high up so doesnt flood, and has multiple parking garages available. Management is top notch.

Just make sure you have a kayak so you can still get around after a moderate rain

Parking in the WHD is a bitch & I feel like it’s lost some of its luster in recent years. Maybe it’s cause I’m getting older

Uptown near the park or Irish channel area if you have the money, but mid city is probably the most realistic alternative for most people.

Honestly the best option is Old Metairie. Short Uber ride to all fun places in the city but w/o all the problems of the city.

Young and single would be boring as frick in OM.

ETA: And I started my family in OM, so I don't hate the area at all. But it would not have been the ideal choice when I was on my own.

North Carrollton just south of the park is a great area.

Back in the 90s, South Carrollton close to the river was also good, but I don't know about now.
