Young and single and you choose New Orleans to live?
Eta: Nashville, Miami, Dallas, Houston, etc. better options

In Louisiana or just in general?
If just in general then no as there are plenty of way better options.
In LA...meh

Should a young single person live anywhere but Uptown in New Orleans?

Why would you question that? A city known for partying makes sense to me.
ETA: and OP, yes, if young and single then Uptown or CBD/Warehouse if you can swing it.

If you’re young and single and must stay in Louisiana, NOLA is a great option. That’s only IF you must stay in Louisiana.

I phrased this poorly. If you’re going to live in New Orleans as a young single person, is there anywhere better than uptown?

Do you mean all of them in the state, country, or world?

Define uptown. Single with 6 children uptown or single no kids uptown?

Uptown would be one of the least miserable parts of NOLA.
You’re friend is welcome.

If this friend has a lot of money and/or roommates then Uptown is the way to go. shite is so expensive out there.

Lakeview, Mid-City, Irish Channel, Warehouse District, Broadmoor. Plenty areas that are nice for young and single.

In 2018, NOLA had the lowest number of murders in more than half a century. They are well on their way to having to even lower number in 2019. And yes, shootings are down also.
