Tammany is in need of an arena and an entertainment venue for medium to large scale events. No its not. Traffic is already bad enough

North of I-12, on the 1088 exit is a great location for this type of venue.

The new updated Superdome is just fine.

If they adopted the fan friendly pricing they have in Atlanta, it would be top notch.

Your options are either in an already over populated and high traffic area or in the middle of nowhere.

There isn't a single place on the Northshore that would make this a "good idea".

The fact that you said "great" location makes it even worse.

Near the riverfront & downtown.

Could offer spectacular views upriver from the convention center, but that area has a mega development permitted now. The problem would be the parking and egress that close to the river.

Superdome is well located with I-10 access, Pontchartrain expressway and hotel walking distance.

Considering the expense on the admittedly nice renovations, it will be 2035 at earliest before new stadium discussion starts.

Either the Saints will relocate before then or it will be on new ownership group post Gayle to pursue.

If a new stadium was every built for the saints outside of downtown New Orleans, the city would never get another Super Bowl nor Final 4.

Its been made clear that the main reason New Orleans continues to get those events is because it's proximity to the quarter and all the downtown attractions.

3.) Same spot?

Or still an easy walk to CBD hotels, restaurants and the Quarter. There are parking lots all over town and it is a nice day hanging out before or after games. I kinda like the locals selling beer, water and grilled meats along Poydras.

What events are going on in St Tammany that could possibly need this type of development where the Castine Center or Harbor Center aren't already suitable venues?

I'd say Alexandria so it's more centrally located for the whole state.

The only problem is... It would be in Alexandria.

put it where the old heavy industrial warehouses used to be, TiRopa and next to
Mardi Gras World

i'm sure they can carve it up to accommodate the entire footprint.

This would have it next to the river, great location and historic area next to the warehouse district (it’s actually the heavy industrial warehouse district) and bordering the lower Irish Channel,

New Orleans East. Lots of vacant land. Easy access.
