WTF man
It's been paid off for probably around 20 years and he was kinda rolling the dice, and he is handy and thinks he could fix any water damage and still come out ahead. And he didn't really expect that region to take a direct hit from a storm coming directly off the Gulf.

tBoat has just showed that he can add by 90 and divide by two multiple times!
Figure out how to divide by 0 and the hurricane disappears

Unfortunately it sounds like he's about to crap out

You can definitely tell that Ian has a more north motion now:

Sadly, that can’t be done.

Maybe if err'one opens their scuba tanks and drain them, thereby raising the pressure. That will back this pig down.

Not with that attitude it can't.

Divide by one negative number and it goes back to Cuba.

Looks like North Venice where Hwy 41 and 681 merge could be ground zero.
Just to get an idea of some of the homes in the area.
These streets will be ground zero.

We haven't left yet but I do have a hotel booked in Miami. The stickler is that we have two 80 lb dogs and it's going to be miserable for us either way. Our street can take up to a 9-10 ft surge before it gets wet. We are forecast for 5-8' which I know is a little close for comfort. My friends across Vanderbilt Beach Rd on the fingers are fricked if it gets to 8'.
We will continue to watch the forecast and will make a decision by 7 PM. A northward trend would be good for us but then I feel for those poor people up north. A lot of people are going to get fricked by this storm.
Right now I am leaning heavily towards going but we do have some time to watch the forecast. The drive to Miami right now is only about 15 minutes longer than normal so that isn't a huge concern yet.

How would you like to be stranded on your roof, and hear the Cajun Navy coming to rescue you, look up, and that's what you see on the deck of the boat?

Those trailers are going to be gone

yea, we thought about that. Would like to run a toaster oven or microwave as well. He is there and is totally OK with us running off his for our fridge. I dont want to draw too much.
We will run ours when necessary. Thanks for the advice...

I would just ask for some water and wait for actual help.

My vote is go. Also, with the dogs, not sure where you booked but Kimpton's have great service for folks with pets and don't have any size/breed restrictions.

To any of y'all in the path and staying, all I can say is reconsider. I stayed for Ida and still have PTSD from that mutha. You'll be hearing some scary shite in the dark and those sounds will be in your head forever.
