The thought of entering their regular checkout lines frighted me. Too many customers on food stamps, writing checks, etc...
trust me, they don't really like you either

If you aren not doing Walmart pickup then you are doing it wrong.

Open App, Pick your groceries out online and select grocery pickup. Choose your nearest store and pick a time slot to pick them up.

With an ounce of planning you don't actually have to step in to the entire store. Just roll up and open your app. Choose the I'M HERE button and an employee rolls your stuff out to you and loads in it your automobile. They will alert you to any substitutes

never use self checkout. If they want me to pretty much work for them for free then I want to take a few items home for free.

I wonder why

I can't remember a time I went to Walmart and didn't use the self checkout line. Greatest thing ever.

I don’t go to Walmart anymore, but it always blew my mind that there were 25 registers and usually only 5 open at a time. When is that peak time? Because I’ve gone every time from sun up to sun down and never seen more than 5-10 open TOPS.

Lately, I've noticed they have self check out stations.

Lately? What's it been, about 10 years?

The WalMarks by me, is full of people trying to check out 2 cart fulls of groceries using the self-checkout, the self-checkout machines constantly break because people do stupid crap to them, etc.

All of this could be avoided if the one employee monitoring the 6-8 machines actually gave a crap.

This is because they have 19 checkout lanes and only two regular ones open but they have 11 self-checkout
lanes open.

frick that shite. We have a bright shiny new Publix that just opened today less then a 1/2 mile from Wal-Mart. I will never go in Wal-Mart again for groceries.

The Sam's that just opened by me has no checkout areas. Its all done with an app you use to scan the items as you shop and then you just walk out. They are working the kinks out and will start using this technology at other Sams and Walmarts.

It's a matter of principle for me. If Walmart wants me to self checkout and bag my own groceries then give me a discount. I'm sure they can afford it with the money they saved after after eliminating those cashier positions.

The College Drive Walmart is actually bearable now that they doubled the amount of self check-out bays

For me, I consider not having to chit chat with a cashier as a positive.

Screw those. I do their job for them but I don't get a discount for it.
