Scruffy is annoyed that no stores are open 24/7 anymore.
I should be able to shop at 2 AM.

I feel like everyone is so damn lazy now
During/after the recession I, a college student at the time, saw throngs of once hard working men find a way to just scratch by and that was fine with them. It completely changed my perspective of them, even if I was young and didn't fully understand their scenario. It changed the psyche of society, just as covid did.
I said back when the "2 weeks to flatten the curve" was going on that this would radically alter society for a generation, and was told I was overreacting. I knew I'd be proven right in due time, as that was the only logical conclusion. Nothing is the same, and while there are some positives that have come from it, and good will always prevail over evil, the net effect has been negative, and laziness en masse is one of the indicators of that being the case.
We are a society of insolence and slothfullness and, as far as the West goes, a dying breed. Covid was by Providence, a necessary event, there's no doubt about that. Just why that is so is yet to be seen, but, as the North Mississippi Allstars song goes, "it ain't the same no mo'."

The economy is always on the brink of collapse.

Does any place stay open 24 hours anymore? Seems like gas stations but I want Walmarks and the grocery stories to stay open 24/7 like they used to be. It was nice grocery shopping those late nights, usually had the whole store to myself type of feel.

Companies quit producing quality products. It's like they all decided to collectively frick us. Want a pickle on that? That's $.50 extra. Want your car to do this? That's a $50 per month subscription. Want this super expensive light bulb to last how long we claim? Yeah, frick off.

We should have trials for the Branch Covidians the way the Allies did for the Nazis after WW2. Many of these people would still have us locked down if they could.

Operation warp speed did a number on us for sure

This is the part that is least talked about but most important of all. People short of OT baller status are struggling to buy the essentials in life after paying their mortgage/rent, car payments, insurance, electric bills etc. They have nickeled and dimed us to death with the price of food and use gas prices being down as a sign of the economy being better. Sure it costs less to get to the store but more to buy food when you get there. We always lose.

The good news that came from it is that it woke a lot of people up to what really matters in life.

Then it turns out they knew from the beginning what it was and that widely available medicines and therapeutics could have prevented the whole shutdown and saved millions of lives. But they needed the Emergency Use Authorization so they could make billions on the fricking vaccine.
Wait...what?

People who ( that didn't lose loved ones) still let "Covid" affect them, need to go to Home Depot, buy some wood, build a bridge and get over it.

The US national debt was 21 trillion in 2018, and stands at 37 trillion today. Debt increases inflation. And that's just part of the equation.

Covid.....Shmovid! The sound of the pronunciation of this word grinds my gears.
Dude, find another subject to start a thread to feel relevant.

Nothing seems the same. And Covid is still the excuse when prices are too high or service is slowed down bc a part unattainable. People are more rude. And I find myself saying nothing really matters anymore bc we saw a gov shut down our country and people lost their livelihoods bc of a “vaccine” and we gave it all up so easily. I’m on the other end and will be retiring early in a couple of years. If I were younger, I’d be struggling wondering why put forth the effort when it can all be taken away. Especially with AI on the horizon.

Meh, i told my wife about a week before the chaos, we're going to the grocery store. Buy everything we need for 6 months. Shelf stable. Had two buggies worth of crap, no one was buying anything out of the ordinary yet.
Covid started... And for the most part I simply ignored it.
She got all worked up as she was working in a hospital.
I just never bothered. We kept having cookouts, drinks with friends, going to work.
I do still keep a properly stocked pantry now. Actually really convenient.

Just made everyone more aware that misinformation has gone mainstream and narcissistic ignorance has replaced expert theory or facts. Realized there are more Benjy Compson types voting and in society than I had ever realized before.

Thing will NEVER be the same, the jab fricked up lots of brains and it can't be changed. Their pineal gland has been destroyed and has caused personality changes. We just have to deal with it.
