Kingsford Match Light in a charcoal chimney starter is the best way to go.

Also... Couple of cotton balls soaked in isopropyl alcohol underneath your pyramid will help it get started. They burn just long and hot enough to get your charcoal started. Works way better than lighter fluid. Get a chimney tho.

I'd tell you to save the butcher paper from previous cooks to use as a starter, but I would guess you're a tin foil wrap guy, assuming you slow cook at all.

It’s not your fault. It’s climate change and all the extra CO2 in the air.

Also, use a heating iron and let the charcoal start roasting

Might want to stop getting tips from Mrs Fat and Happy.

And use your old butcher paper from brisket wraps as a starter.

Build pyramid
Soak with lighter fluid
Wait a minute or two
Light several spots
Let fire die
When coals are ashed over, spread for even heating.
Place meat on when desired temp is reached

Not hard baw.

Bought this $50 grill and tried using it Memorial Day weekend. Failed. Kingsford Original with lighter fluid could not keep it going.

Now I’ve bought some Kingfords Match Light as a starter for the Original and it still won’t stay lit. Dampers have been opened/closed. Extra lighter fluid. Paper. Stacked to one side. Nothing works.

Throw that shite away and buy a chimney, a bag of B&B orange bag charcoal, and some sort of fire starters (Tumbleweeds, Weber cubes, etc.). It has never, ever failed to light for me and it will burn until I put it out. I just used a chimney full a bit ago.
