Patient Plus in Baton Rouge will test anyone who goes there for current infection or antibodies at all of their locations. There is no wait.
There is not currently demand for testing 200,000 per month.

The simple fact is that people who feel fine are not going to go be tested for Covid. Some people seem to think that if we can just conduct mass testing of the asymptomatic we can identify the positives, track who they came into contact with and thereby contain the virus. This will never happen. It is too widespread and the asymptomatic are not going to go get themselves tested. As others have said, testing is a red herring.

The same JBE that said last week after meeting with Trump we would have enough testing to start opening up? The same JBE who keeps relying on total cases not new positives, or more importantly hospitalizations? That one? Yeah, don't trust anything he says.

I think there is value in testing, but the nature of this virus, with so many asymptomatic people, means that we are either going to need to force or induce people to be tested, neither of which I am a fan of.
So I'm back to... what is magical about 200K?
I understand and agree we need the ability to quickly test and results on anyone who wants/needs a test. For any reason.
But why isn't that number 50K or 75K or even 400K? What's the reason for 200K?

Here’s a novel idea... if you are susceptible and more likely to die from a respiratory virus, take steps to protect yourself. If not, do things as you see fit. Everyone should be free to choose how they deal with their own health. Except pregnant mothers, of course.

They will test, but as of last week, their test still took 3-5 days for results which aren't really helpful. Rapid tests give you a better picture in real-time.
