It’s actually the perfect time to lose your job. Get high and watch March Madness for 4 days.

Take a day or two, drink some beers, watch some basketball while surfing the web for jobs. Not going to be a whole lot you can do over the weekend except prep a resume. Do that. Then on Monday, start sending that fricker everywhere you can. Lean on family and friends and tell them to put the word out. I’ve been in your shoes. It’s a shitty feeling, one I wouldn’t wish on anyone. You’ll be depressed until you find another job, but don’t rush it or you’ll end up at one you hate and stay in your depression. It might wipe out some of your savings, but it will be worth it if you take your time and find a good one. ETA: dip into unemployment if you have to to keep you somewhat afloat
The thread could have ended after this post.. perfect

Sorry, reasons you cannot see at work, all for the best. Please clear your heart and mind, find a Bible if you don't have one and read Philippians 4: 6-7, it was written over 2000 years ago for you, good luck and God.bless.

need more specifics in order to help you. what type of job did you have? what happened that caused you to lose your job? you might want to start there because it may impact your ability to find a new one. you should file for unemployment immediately and then start networking to see if any friends/acquaintances know of any other opportunities. then update your resume and start searching online. also, reach out to recruiters to see if they need someone with your skill set.

You took your non intrinsically safe cellular device into the unit, didn’t you?

What time did you leave on that day?

Seriously job market is hot right now you’ll have little trouble finding work

It happens to many of us. If you lost it because you were an idiot that's one thing, if you lost it because other people are idiots, that's another.
Either way, dust yourself off, pick yourself up, and go look for another. Lots of available jobs around today.

There are millions of brilliant, driven people who're subject to job loss at almost any time. A few fields are immune, like physicians, but the majority aren't. You shouldn't be down on yourself unless you contributed to your own demise. Good luck.

I haven’t punched a time clock since high school. Couldn’t imagine doing it as someone nearing 30.

Take a few days to just chill and get your mind right. After that, blow some dust off of your resume and apply for unemployment benefits. Start networking and looking for a new job. Try to enjoy your new temporary freedom as much as you can. I was out of work for 4 months in 2017. During that 4 months, I was pretty discouraged because I was not finding anything at all. By the end of it, out of nowhere, I got 4 job offers in a 2 week period. I was able to choose a really good one and landed on my feet. You will be fine. It's a decent job market right now.

Honestly, you shouldn’t work for a company/manager like that anyway. This will be a blessing to you (ignoring any short-term impacts to vesting equity or other benefits).
There are too many jobs out there to be treated that way in this day and age. Your best bet is to go work for a millennial boss at a start up. You’ll get to bring your dog to work, play ping pong and drink at the office. Of course you may be out of a job in a year again; but it may be worth it haha.

The upside is that getting fired the day before the NCAA tournament is the best possible day to get fired.

one piece of advice from an employer
when you interview the first question is going to be about the circumstances of your separation. “Philosophical differences with management” is going to earn you a rapid “thank you for your time”. be honest that you made mistakes and you have learned from them
on the other hand stupid businesses run off good people all the time. Be prepared with rapid fire summary of your skills and experience and if you want the job, be ready to explain exactly how you’d make the new company better
good luck

1. Eliminate unnecessary expenses and create a new budget until you get a new job.
2. Update resume and linkedin profile.
3. Network your arse off. Every single day. You won't get a job by submitting resumes. You will get a job by meeting people and telling them your story directly. Network network network. Make that your job until you get the offer.
