If Dan Patrick interrupted my meal I'd be pissed.

Nothing

Exactly what I did years ago when I found Yogi Berra eating at the next table in a St. Louis restaurant.

Tell him “Well, you're not as shitty as your buddy Olbermann. But hey, enjoy the lobster”.

Nothing. Maybe just make a comment to myself that it is cool to see X person that I like.

Left him the frick alone to enjoy his meal

Want to piss off your celebrity hero? Go up to their table in a restaurant and interrupt their meal or approach them while they're out doing things with their spouse / kids because you want to be a fanboy.

A few years back I saw Warren Morris on the bus to Animal Kingdom. He was my childhood hero growing up and I wanted to fanboy so hard but he had little kids with him so I just gave him Geaux Tigers leaving the bus. He had an LSU shirt on so he may not have even realized I knew who he was but I got to introduce my son to the greatness of the 96 college World Series walk off homerun.

I don't idolize celebrities like you seem to. There's only a handful I would even recognize if I saw them in public.

He was on an episode of Maine Cabin Masters where he bought a run down Maine lake house and they renovated it for the show.

NGL, that’d be a tough one for me. I never watched SportCenter when he was the host, but I’ve spent years watching his post-SC show (The Dan Patrick Show). Followed him from Audience to YouTube and now Peacock. Would probably have at least said hi to him.

Ran into Woody Harrelson at Bruno's about 10 years ago. Just exchanged head nods. I think famous people like New Orleans because we tend to not harass them in public. He was able to just grab drinks out in public with friends without a swarm of people asking for pictures.

If I saw a person who I really admired and he or she were eating alone, I'd pick up their tab and just have the waiter say "it's from a long time fan or yours".

Just say hey and that you’re a fan (if you are one). No need to do anything more.

I did this to Josh Harden when he walked by my table in aspen at a restaurant. He was very cool.
