How dare you try to tell me how to spend my leisure time! I’m handicapped and require rascal access to my vacation spots. Hiking trails are not disability friendly.

I love watching the disgusting fat bodies waddle around. People love watching a train wreck for some reason.

My point is that this is a major problem and needs to be addressed as such. Instead, we are debating whether or not a kid has a vaccine. I just don't think that is anywhere near as major of a problem as America's weight issues.

Vaccines make you fat. After my kid got his vaccines he started gaining weight and getting taller. There is no other explanation

I agree with the OP in principal, but tired of people bitching about fatties without proving they aren't part of the problem.

fatties make less fat people feel better about themselves. I couldn't go to the beach if I was gonna be the tubbiest guy there. These fat fricks make me look good.

So, people in decent shape are part of the problem?

I think this is from a combination of wealth* and kids not learning how to self-regulate due to the presence of screens everywhere. If you never learn how to deny yourself screen time, or video games, etc., how do you learn to deny yourself a cookie?

* in the US, even if you're poor you can typically afford a grocery cart of junk food at the wally world.

Step up your beach game. I did not notice too many fatties in Rosemary last week.

If we react to obesity with the same intensity as we did with smoking, we may be able to make a dent.

But, sadly, this is a social “rights” issue now and “feels” trump science in our society.

There was an argument about ammunition and relative wounding characteristics on the poli-board last night/this morning.

The most true thing posted in that thread:

It isn't. It is a known fact to most people, that Americans leading cause of death is heart disease - and the "cure" is exercise and a healthier diet. Childhood obesity is incredibly alarming as well, and sets those children up for diabetes and likely eventual heart disease.

My point is... you see what an issue this is but are you willing to get involved or make a difference? Help existing organizations raise awareness? Talk to your kids school and help put on a event? Reach out to your community leaders to see what is currently being done and volunteer your time?

I’ve been a dick in this thread, but this is a very good reply. We have replaced educating people about what is good for them and telling people hard truths about themselves with not hurting someone’s feelings.

As silly as it is, there was a “Scrubs” episode about just this topic where it showed being honest with people and not sugar coating it can actually make a difference in people’s lives. We as a society have gotten away from it.

Why would I come on here and bitch about fat people if I were also fat? That doesn't even make sense.

you want a bunch of pics of shirtless guys?

I get what you mean though. Most of the people starting these threads could probably lose 20 lbs.
