Lucky you. Unfortunately Saturday was the last day Terminal C was opened.

they have such a hard on for leveraging people's pain and inconvenience. I'm struggling to remember if the GOP has done similar.
LOL
The GOP is overflowing with pussies. They dont want to actually do anything. They'd never have the nuts to pull this stunt.
The democrats manage to get their way even when they hold majority in zero branches of the government.

How tf is long wait times in an American airport benefitting someone in Bangladesh?
Did you hit your head falling out of bed this morning?
Long wait times are a tiny result of a messy system which has, for all its flaws, improved the lives of every living soul on the planet. The system is the United States, long wait times currently at airports is a bump in the road to progress that mankind has been marching down since our first ancestor stood on their hind legs and said "the view is remarkable from up here...my back hurts". Apparently I have hit my head against a wall of woeful ignorance on your part as you are apparently of the opinion the only thing the United States has ever produced are the current long wait times at airport security.

Yes, since last Sat, only Terminal A and E are operational. No precheck.

Unfortunately far too many of us are spoiled by easy living and do indeed doubt this irrefutable fact. Name an era when you'd prefer to live in than the current era.

TSA opens at 3:30 am. These people were lining up before then waiting for it to open. Definitely inconvenient, but not the crazy "shut down/stranded" narrative that "HustleBitch" is trying to portray.
This is basically people camping outside an Apple Store to get the new iPhone, but for airport travel

at least half of Congress
Then they'd ALL stop using airports for leverage when things get a bit too terse. It's become public policy. The new filibuster without any rules.

Yep. The uncertainty is ruining the experience for those with early flights. You have people standing in line at 4am and their flight departs at 6pm.

who are they representing exactly with this current shut down? who does it benefit?
Their constituents. Their constituents want ICE reigned in. Its not a matter of right or wrong, its what the people who put them in office put them in office to do. This is how our system works. There have been plans put together which would fund TSA...they have been rejected. This is how out system works. It would be better if it was more efficient but we the people want this and our actions speak louder than our words...we voted for it, making liberals cry was more important than efficient governance. Here we are.

What was better about 2016, 2006 and 1996?

I hope at the end of this there are small bonuses or rewards to those that pulled no shenanigans- at both the individual level and airport level.
When you refer to people pulling shenanigans, are you referring to TSA agents that are not getting paid not showing up to their shifts? I gotta be honest, I've got a family to support. If I'm not getting paid at my job I'm not going to work because I am having to find an alternate job so that I can make the bills.

I would bet it's a bit more coordinated than that when you have a major airport every to every other day, one at a time, having this issue.
I have no beef with people doing whatever is necessary to provide for their families or themselves. I don't think that is the root of this ill.

save your 100 word “this is the how the system works” nonsense for someone else grandpaw.
We both know this is not about “reigning ICE in”, ICE is doing their job. who benefits from this? (before I start dropping clips of your representatives saying the quiet part out loud)

If by "constituents" you mean illegal aliens, then yes. You are correct they want ICE reigned in.

This what be a great time to privatize airport security and get rid of TSA completely - they've never stopped a documented terrorist attack in their history and fail pretty much every test
But congress doesn't have the balls to do that
