Early 2000s Sammy’s was great.

I don’t see too many cars there whenever I drive by. Lots at Superior on Highland.

When Tigre’s folded up (original Highland location) it was the end of an era.

We went there a few months ago and they didn’t have the green house dressing

I knew it was over

Last time I was in Sammy’s the crowd noise was so loud you couldn’t have any kind of conversation with anyone sitting across from you and forget about it beyond that.
You can expect some of the crowd noise in a place like that and that’s ok, but it was like a hollering match between tables.

I used to love that place. Used to get the hamburger steak. Really good. My wife and I watched the LSU @ Auburn game where Les Miles clock management lost the game to Gus Bus probably costing Miles his job and saving Gus Bus's job for awhile. Lot of good memories in that place.

I don't know where they found their servers (I didn't go often,) but it seems like every one had a great set of muscular-ish, tanned gams.

Their crawfish sucked. Glad the rest of BR finally caught on.

Didn't the owner make some sort of shite lease deal that made him lose most locations, or am I thinking of somewhere else?

Didn’t Wayne leave it to 6-8 people when he divided up his restraints in his succession plan? None of them could figure out how to keep the place from continuing its decline. The lease expiring was an excuse for them to close.

I went recently and they had an hour wait with the parking lot less than half full. I did not wait. Quality has sucked for years anyway, good riddance

Couldn't beat it in late 80s. Damned good food and cheap prices (which for a college student was welcome). The then girlfriend (now wife) and I went there a lot.

Sammy’s was great. Then it sucked and Wayne bought it. Got better.

Just fyi property owners are now getting $40k per month, 6% equity share in the new business located there, and the new tenant is putting $2mm into the building. New owners are Willie’s. I don’t blame the property owners or Sammy’s.
