Fantastic price TBH

Doesn't make sense for rear pads only @ 26k

A bit early to be changing brake pads, isn't it?

The original ones were screeching due to the ceramics. I replaced them with Akebonos that are quiet.

That’s cause the service reps and mechanics all get a commission on sales. They have incentive to screw you as much as possible.

ETA meant service reps.

frick the dealerships. They’ll all try to screw you if you let them. I take mine to the dealership only for a recall. It’s also not a good idea to let Firestone do anything but put tires on your vehicle.

We bought an Acadia last July. Recently the radio stays on after exiting the car occasionally and one window button works sporadically. Took it to the dealership because it’s still under warranty. But the dealership claims the warranty company says neither falls under the warranty. So it would cost $650 to fix...

Yeah no thanks... we can just live with it.

That’s bullshite and what they are doing is trying to charge you and then submit it as a warranty claim as well. 3 years 36k bumper to bumper at minimum and what you have is under that. I’d ask to speak
To his boss then the owner and demand they show you how that’s not covered. Only thing not covered is wearable parts such as breaks, wipers, batteries and maybe rotors. Most dealerships service centers suck.

Wait, are you still under the mfg warranty or did you buy one of those BS after market warranties? I’ve noticed that a lot lately as well as a lot of dealerships are part of a broker firm for aftermarket insurance/warranty. A local dealership actually tried screwing my parents when they bought a few months ago. Told them that Ford no longer offered an extended warranty and they had to go through this company that they wrote for.

Not a woman, but I was shocked at how unprofessional the F&I guy got when I didn’t buy GAP on a car with 50% ltv

F&I guy makes commish on all that crap. Usually hold a couple points of interest as well.

Dealerships make more in the F&I office than they do on the new car itself generally.

Not all are the same. I love Team Toyota on Oneal. They always don't BS me and give me the cheapest oil changes.

My Silverado came with free oil changes for the first 3 years/50,000 miles. While I was taking advantage of that program, the service manager told me that I needed new ball joints and that the ones on my relatively new pickup were at risk of failure and they can replace them “today” for some ridiculous price.

I declined, but I later had a trusted mechanic look at it. He said there was nothing wrong and everything looked new.

That was about 12 years ago. 200,000 miles later, the truck still doesn’t need new ball joints. It’s never needed anything but regular maintenance. I’ve never seen uneven tire wear and there’s has never been any weird noises from the suspension that could even hint at the need for new ball joints.

It's not free. You paid for oil changes in the price of the vehicle.

bullshite.

They are always trying to up sell something . The last time I went there, they didn’t change the oil filter when they changed the oil. Mark your filter, to be safe.

Corporate Toyota don’t play with complaints. Believe it!
