I had a friend who became a service manager at a local stealership. After a couple of years he quit and moved on. He couldn’t stand to see friends get screwed with the inflated prices and gouging tactics.

Good one.

Don’t worry, I have the VA Gadsden Flag license plates to affirm my manliness for all the men that go around looking to judge other men’s manliness.

My AC started shutting down and check engine light comes on in the middle of driving to Louisiana with the fam. I stopped at an AutoZone, and the code was low voltage. I thought that maybe the alternator was out. Not knowing the area (Tuscaloosa) the seasoned AutoZone worker recommended the Ford dealership right down the street. I had somewhere I needed to be, so I relented.

Fast forward 3 hours of waiting, because the mechanic was "eating lunch," the assessment was that my ac compressor was "coming apart." The part won't be in until tomorrow for a job that will be over $1000. Paid a $116 diagnostic to the dealership and leave.

I find a local mechanic who will gladly do it for around $750. They gladly change my ac compressor, and as we are leaving, the AC stops working...it was the alternator!

Years ago I got laid off during the financial crisis (07-08) and went through training to sale Toyotas.

The service manager freely admitted that they do free oil changes so they can get the vehicles in and find a multitude of additional issues to charge for.

This was a top dealership in Plano, Texas and they were all crooked as Frick, no loyalty to the consumer.

I ended up walking out.

The most important thing is to keep replacing your windshield, even when it gets dirty. Don’t clean it when you can just have a new one put in.

Why didn’t you just plug it yourself, queer?

You can get a kit for $6.

Calling it stealership over and over is super cringeworthy.

Any place of business you visit will try to sell you something you don't need. You can say no, you know?
