When I go to Popeyes I understand 3 things.
1: They will be out of something.
2: You will have to pull forward.
3: Something will be wrong with your order.
As long as I know 1 or 3 of those things will happen I can enjoy that delicious spicy fried chicken.

Let’s take this a step further. Do you think Popeyes would be as successful if they got bought out by chick-fil-a?
Why or why not?

service is as bad as it was 10-15 years ago
It was epic bad in the late 90s. Once your expectations are adjusted, and you have mobile ordering, it's better. It still is disappointing when a construction crew or a carload of Nigerians rolls up to the drive through before you, and takes 6 minutes to order. I don't have to wonder why the workers are pissed (at my location staffed by mainly Filipinos, they're nice and efficient. it's disorienting, because I expect Louisiana Popeyes service, and I get actual service.)

The Popeyes in Beaverton, OR (staffed entirely by Hispanics) is just about as efficient as any Chick Fil A or Raising Canes.

It's interesting to me that the shitty service seems to be a point of pride and a regional touchstone of experience and expectation.

Possibly, but then you have to find 3,000 new "operators" that are willing to pay $10k to be a high paid fast food manager, which is what CFA does. Getting people to buy into that with a Popeyes when they don't build wealth or own any assets and can't scale is gonna be tough because turning around a Popeyes that is bad is going to be a huge undertaking and many are in places people don't generally want to work unless they have to.

I feel like 85% of the Popeye's in NV are like this, just an entirely different world from what I was used to back home in Nola.

What I find intriguing is that WH is mainly based in the South. I'd guess 25% of the customers that aren't drunk are probably armed. And yet nobody gets shot.

I worked at one in Columbia, SC... St Andrews road... shots flew from time to time. I got hazard pay during my short stint there. No shots flew on any of my 3rd shifts (9pm-7am), but it happened.

No. Chick-fil-A actually does their marketing campaign correctly in defining proper locations for placement. You are not going to get smiling educated employees to work at the Popeyes locations.

Popeyes either nails it or completely blows it. They'll never miss your bbq sauce, but they'll give you a 10 piece chipotle wings when you ordered a 2-piece dinner with a coke.

Popeyes here in Brookhaven, ms is fine. No problems with the food or service.

I second the person that said order with the app. Their app is fantastic and the rewards are great. They also seem to focus on app orders. Order 15-20 min before you’re arriving and you’ll never wait.

Popeyes SHOULD be the GOAT fast food joint because their food is legit .... but because their ownership is greedy and chooses to hire the absolute worst of the worst employees, we get what we get.
lazy employees who take your money at the window and then make your drive around and sit for God knows how long in the parking lot because they want to LIE and make their drive thru time look better. ALL because they are LAZY.
Popeyes franchise owners should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
