I blame it on the cable cutters who watch YouTube all the time. None of these guys read any more. They watch YouTube or listen to podcasts of random people who have become YouTube or podcast stars. They link YouTube videos from people most of us have never heard of, and expect other people to watch them.
Read an article and post the link, and maybe I'll read it, but I'm not watching your YouTube expert's freaking video.

I think the only commercial that I've ever watched on youtube is the Dr. Squatch soap commercial because it was funny from the start. The commercial has like over 100 million views on youtube too. I would think that 99% of commercials on there are a total waste of money since basically all people automatically tune out as soon as their video is interrupted, but maybe not.

Not all ads have a skip button after 5 seconds and you are forced to watch the whole ad.

Premium is worth it. You also get YouTube music with it, which I like better than Spotify.

I've got YouTube music, premium YouTube comes with it. Its worth it if you watch videos often.

I use an adblocker on my desktop that stops 100% of ads. I never get one.
On mobile, I use Brave browser with ad blockers enabled which stops most all ads. I do not use any Youtube app because they typically don't let you block ads.
