Only 25 years. You say that like it is NBD to serve 25 years in prison, Do you not think 25 years in the klink will reshape her way of thinking?
America’s lust for lengthy, often forever, prison terms is a truly bizarre thing.

One beer good, one case bad.

One of my law school roommates and his three little kids were killed by a drunk driving an 18 wheeler (the driver was El Salvadoran).
His wife watched them all perish as she was not hurt.

That’s fricking horrifying to imagine, but I do wonder what the Nationality of these drivers has to do with anything. A drunk Guatemalan is really no different than a drunk Cajun or a drunk Spaniard. Turns out, all drunk people are really high on a low quality drug that much of this country thinks is fun to abuse while vilifying actual good drugs.

Sad part about this is the bride's mother is fighting the husband about who gets the money related to the deceased's wrongful death claim. It's turned into a really sordid affair.

Money does that to people unfortunately. No matter how good the intentions are.

I could have predicted this when I read the part about them on a golf cart on the country road after their wedding. Mama tried, but not hard enough. The scars of the trash upbringing; you don’t ever warsh that off.

Depends on situation. Let's say Bartender serves and does several shots with her and knows she's driving.
And then serves her more and or doesn't try to deter her from driving.
Slippery slope that we've probably all been on.
How about any of the people with her at dinner? Or the people in the bar at the same time as her? They all had an opportunity to tackle her and stop her poor decision making, but they didn't. Better garnish their wages.

Jesus that's awful.
How's the wife been doing? I can't imagine well.

And golf carts don't belong on roadways.
Was this ever answered? I remember it being discussed when this happened, but I don't think it was known then.

And the blood-sucking lawyer gets at least 40%. So, he'll only net roughly $850k or less.

If they never got to the point of signing the legal paperwork, they were never officially married.

Lots of golf carts are equipped to be street legal. They are registered and insured just like a car. They are all over coastal towns

Maybe.. but I don’t see how you could come to such a conclusion without interviewing one witness or reading one page of the filing.. Par for the course around here i guess .

In South Carolina, golf carts can be street-legal. However, the following stipulations apply: The golf cart must be covered by liability insurance and registered with the DMV. The golf cart must display a state-issued golf cart permit decal, and the registration papers must be carried at all times.
They were in a beach town. Some of y’all don’t get out much.

Exactly. Beach towns in general are loaded w/golf carts being driven on roads/sidewalks. I was in Santa Rosa Beach over Memorial Day and they were everywhere.

Just as stupid as suing Boeing for TWA 800 being shot down.
