Does anyone think its strange that these hurricanes, starting from Beryl in July that hit Houston is starting by the Bay of Campache or in the Southern gulf and picking up crazy steam before slamming into the US.

I thought the worst hurricanes start off the coast of Africa, coming via the Caribbean islands?

Its very odd a lot of these this year are coming from the same area. Just an observation.

That would be a little strange, but half of what you said isn’t what happened so it’s not odd at all

Pressure seems to have stabilized the last pass and we’re seeing evidence of an eye wall replacement cycle that may be developing.

Looks like you can see the wind field expand those last 2-3 frames too?

yeah and it seems the plane missed the eye.. but they also found some evidence of a second wind radii, so it appears that EWRC process is starting, so we should see the pressure rise some.. unfortunately, that isn't a good thing as the wind field will expand before it goes over the LC

When is this thing supposed to start weakening?

Probably late tomorrow into Wednesday. After it takes on a more northerly direction it will be positioned to feel the vertical shear and dry air more. It is going to be a white knuckler waiting for it to start.

Just flagged a 170+kt suspect surface wind looks like. Any chance this could be a legit reading with this storm?

About 12-18 hours before landfall.

But it also wasn't supposed to hit max strength until tomorrow.

I've always wondered how far the water came up. What about the Gulfport exit with the outlet? How close to Pass Rd-good marker--? did the water get?

I’ve never noticed if there is one. I go by there all the time, so I’ll keep my eyes open.

Path dependent. Landfall around Cedar Key and you're gonna have a very windy Wed night with a whole lot of rain. As it stands now, not to bad. Check your local NWS or local stations for forecasts from people more familiar with your geography.

Thank you for the information. I’m not in that area but have family members who are that I am concerned about.
