The pink ring is off the charts crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if recon finds this well below 900.

My phone just did back to back "Atom bombs are dropping" alerts. I have been feeling really unsettled about this storm for days. People joke on here how many I claim to have been through. I am usually nonchalant. I don't like this one bit. Not personally, but for the area.

A jog north does NOT save Tampa.

A direct hit would be better than a jog north.

I don't understand why they can't keep a drone inside the storm at all times..
too light? Well make it heavier.

Those drones only have so much gas it can hold in the tank.

i just used Google Map Terrain option to see where the high ground was near Tampa. It didn't show any.

The Perry Castaneda map collection of the University of Texas is next: the topo maps may show elevations.

Here's the topo map for Tampa LINK

Contour intervalsl 50 ' 25' in some places. The outer islands must have been all old overwash deposits. There are places east of Tampa that are 50' above sea level. With lots of small lakes.

You staying??

Do you mind me asking exactly where you are? We have to live pretty close to each other.

Surge forecast got bumped up a bit.

This could challenge the 1848 Tampa Hurricane that brought a 15 ft surge.

How do you expect a sail drone to penetrate a hurricane to get to the eye in the first place?

180 mph winds is scary. Let’s pray that he calms down a lot before landfall.

Just had about 7 devices go off at the same time, including everyone in studio at the weather station we’re watching.

It was a bit unsettling.

Got those alerts too, multiple phones all going off. Am riding it out in Apollo Beach, but that is unsettling.

During the Helene thread, someone relayed a story from a previous storm where their family didn’t want to leave. They went to their parents home and said well goodbye. I love you. I hope to see you after this comes through. That got the family to leav

Yeah, that was me. The morons were going to stay in their house in Waveland. All that was left was the slab and pool.
